...3, 2, 1. The countdown has begun😎...finally its on!

We hope many of you are excited as much as us because the seventh season of the Indian Premier League (IPL) has kicked off with speed.

Indian Premier League (IPL) is a Twenty20 cricket tournament where different franchise teams participate for the title. The tournament started in 2008 and from then it usually takes place every year in the months of April - June. This year, we have 8 teams in total.

IPL is the most watched cricket league in the world - a combination of cricket and entertainment, slowly growing into became a worldwide phenomenon like other leagues. It is a tournament with seventy-six matches, spread all across the country where the leading international cricketers with Indian cricketers battle it out against each other in the Twenty20 format.

Rajasthan Royals

The 2008 Champions didn't have a great season since the 2008 edition. The 2013 edition proved to be lucky for them as they reached the Play-Off's. The Royals, having a young side have proved themselves in the previous season. This year under Shane Watson, it will be fun to see how does this team perform!

Royal Challengers Bangalore

The Challengers may have a point to prove after just missing out on the semi-finals last year. They've recruited well or more specifically, they've recruited Australian all-rounders well. Bangalore will rely heavily on big-hitting opener Chris Gayle, Yuvraj Singh who was brought for a heavy prize at the auction and their new captain Virat Kohli,the powerful young Indian cricketer.

Royal Challengers Bangalore and Rajasthan Royals will go head to head in Match 14 of Pepsi IPL 2014. Both teams have played three matches so far this season. RR's solitary victory was when they defeated Sunrisers Hyderabad in their season opener, while RCB defeated Delhi Daredevils and Mumbai Indians before going down to KKR most recently.

Both teams will be annoyed and hurting given that despite holding a firm grip on the match for the better part of 40 overs, they couldn't finish things off. RR restricted a formidable Chennai Super Kings line-up to 140, but there weren't too many partnerships when it was their turn to bat and the team folded up eight runs short of their target.

Royal Challengers Bangalore were in the driver's seat at the start of the final over of the run-chase. Needing six off the final three balls, the scales tilted in favour of their opponents, Kolkata Knight Riders, when Chris Lynn pulled off a stunner at the midwicket boundary to send back the dangerous AB de Villiers. Albie Morkel managed only three more runs off the final two deliveries, leaving RCB three short of their target of 151.

If Chris Gayle takes the field - questions on whether he has recovered completely remain unanswered - he will surely count as the most destructive player in the match. In his absence - and given that Yuvraj Singh isn't at his fluent best - RCB will need their captain Virat Kohli and AB de Villiers to come up with the goods.

Ajinkya Rahane and Sanju Samson are Rajasthan Royals' top run-getters so far this season. Despite playing cricket the orthodox way, both players have proven that they have cracked the code to be successful even in this fast-paced format. The one player who needs to come good - and who can blow away any opposition on his own - is Shane Watson; the Australian is comfortably the franchise's top run-getter and needs to start pulling his weight in the team - more so now since he is the captain.
