Take 5: Top 5 countdown for April 25th

Welcome back to the Friday edition of Take 5 ...

Today, there were a lot of lollipops in the episode:

- Jodha telling her Mom that Jalal was not bad ... It was circumstances

This scene alone should have sealed the deal for anyone who thought that it wasn't Jodha's ego at play lately 😉

- Jalal's confidence and cute expressions that he would find his Jodha Begum among the ladies

- The confidence with which he holds Jodha's hand correctly and says jitna bhi bhaag lo, I will catch you

I actually felt really happy here, because it was like finally he had the confidence in himself to show his apnapan towards her and his haq as her husband after the dhakka, and it broke my heart when she left oh so rudely 😡 it was definitely another dhakka, you could tell by the way his voice quivered when he said he won't touch her

While I did fall for those scenes, fortunately, I did not need these lollipops for my take 5 as there were meaningful elements of the story I found today for my take 5:

(1) MA's downfall is near: Wow, this is no. 1! Well not really, I just wanted to get it out of the way as a necessary evil. Two signs that the downfall is hear. One, less hopeful one, is Hamida Bano now has suspicions on Maham Anga which will likely be drowned in her sad memories of Jodha Begum (more on that later) and Atgah Khan hearing from the real Dilawer Khan about Maham Anga's role in that whole khaand.

While I am sad that Atgah Khan's end will come soon ... It is something that has to come for the story to move forward.

Yes Divya, we'll all miss Atgah I guess, but I'm excited for the story to move forward as well

Jalal's outburst to Jodha. My heart almost broke when he was insulted in public when Jodha ran off, when he said you don't want me to touch you then I won't, and when he said as a Father, I cannot keep my promise to Rahim ... but that is not what made it to my top 5, there are two distinct bits I really liked:

(2) Jalal knew Jodha was at fault all along ... As if Jalal had read our points from the forum 😉, he beautifully placed a mirror in front of Jodha:

- You had first hidden the truth from me

- Why were you silent when I asked

- Wah (what a great dialogue touch!) gave up in telling the truth to me in one try ... And here I am trying so many times

I too felt he had been brushing up on our IF comments lately 😆 personally I feel he should have been more brusque with his comments, but that's just me being angry 😆 it makes me respect him so much more that while she was playing victim and throwing senseless allegations right, left and centre, when he stood up for himself and reminded her why things had gotten to the point for which he was angry, he did not at all sound accusing 👏 that's something which would have been very hard for me to do had I been in his place, it's such a selfless and caring act.

Yet, he had the humility to bow down to her guroor one last time and ask her to come. And this time I forgive our Teda Jalaal one last time ... Because now I respect him even more for asking forgiveness ... It is easy to ask for forgiveness when you think you and only you are wrong ... It is even harder when you know you are only partially at fault. All these days I though Jalal thought only he was at fault ... But I am glad even he is not that blinded in love. 👏

Agreed.

(3) His decision to return to Agra at Shehenshah: I am so glad to see him say his "aakhri faisla" that he will return to Agra as his people need him. I am glad he finally recognized his responsibilities for the people ...

But , I think he also realized that Jodha's return had to be her own decision- not because of his coaxing, his promise to Hamida Bano or Rahim, and that takes me to my next take:

(4) I am glad Jodha said "No" because she is just not ready: It was interesting that Mainavati said earlier in the episode that before you went to Agra as you were forced and now you will go happily. I think that exactly is the problem- Jodha always had a reservation with this wedding because it was her majboori, she was forced into it. That is why she hides behind kartavya, vows, and her symbols of being a suhagan as that is what bound her to this wedding at first. Till she values the Man himself, above her Kartavya , vows, and her symbols ... There is simply no point. And today, her defense of her saying "no" was still clinging to those vows.

You're absolutely right. Now he isn't her 'husband' anymore, her acts towards him aren't supposed to be labelled as duty. She must realise that it isn't her husband she is obliged to go back to, but that she wants to, whole heartedly, go back to the man she loves (who also happens to be her husband 😆)

Not that I agree with her behavior today, particularly in public, with Jalal ... But if she had "yes" out of Kartavya and the promise to Hamida Bano, I could not bear her to continue humiliating Jalal in public in Agra. It is better that they are separate till she gets over her bitterness.

And dear lord, I will only truly be happy if she also apologises for everything she has put him through. I don't want it to be like every other time where she does something, makes a decision, and everything else, her flaws, her rudeness, her insults and humiliation are forgotten and dusted under the carpet.

I want Jodha to go because of her own feelings for Jalal and love for him. Adi, take a bow, your prediction is almost about to be true! 👏

(5) Sawaal dus crore ka: I loved one half of the precap, with Mainavati shaking Jodha and asking "kya chal rahe tere mann mein" ... I would like to know as well! Thank God somebody finally asked! And I can't wait for the answer! Any guesses? I hope it is what Shraddha wrote in her beautiful letter. 😊

For the other half of the precap with Hamida Bano, well that is not in my Take 5. But, I am officially declaring HB Jodha's Mom ... Her investigation skills are very similar to Jodha's running off alone with a shawl and them returning back without a suraag... And she continues to blame Jalal only.

Our Teda Jalal is definitely at risk by Hamida Bano's attack with his sad eyes ... But, I will wait to see the episode before I lose hope given I know the CVs precap editing tricks.

I hope her fasting for 5 days is a result of her realising her mistakes and feeling guilty and missing him 😈

HB is the next big 'feminist' after Jo. Hopefully TE talks some sense in her. And I wonder if she will even care after knowing about AM's attack on Jalal? I have a feeling she's questioning him about Jo after knowing everything 😆

He's had more than his share of mental torture by everyone 😡

So, what are your thoughts on the episode?

All week I've only been watching for Jalal so overall it was okay 😆 but the small improvements with Jo and the political front are keeping me somewhat optimistic.
