Dear diary,

It takes a lot of guts to burn down a show before it died its natural death and build from its ashes...

😳

I mean...who would want to take such a chance? Gul did..and it is looking good.

Look at Qubool Hai 2! Its like watching an entirely new show!

Apart from Dilsahd and Sanam who looks like Zoya...and the photograph and memories of AsYa and Tamatar...nothing remains. And it is quite a refreshing change, to be honest. Of course, it could be just the newness of a new show, but I think it is quite applause-worthy that it is looking this good this early on.👏 To be very frank, I was apprehensive about accepting Part 2...because neither Karanvir nor his character are my idea of a hero...and I have never connected to a 4 Lions show on first watch, in spite of wonderful, acclaimed actors...and look at me...letting Gul colour my imagination!

Dilshad: After the storm that turned her world upside down, Dilshad fled with her grandchildren. If she brought up Asad and Najma working her bones, she turns to that strength within her to raise their children. If Asad had used his meagre resources to make himself an architect, Sanam Ahmed Khan is less lucky. Opportunities are less in a small town in Punjab, compared to a big city like Bhopal. But Dilshad has preferred to hide her grandchildren here, away from Tanveer's blazing anger...and the girls do quite well for themselves.

Hayaa: She was deaf when we saw heart 2 years of age...No idea if she was born deaf. But Sanam mentions that it is a correctable defect. Hayaa is a pleasant woman in her twenties...she finds her sister Sanam very amusing.She spends her time at the orphanage, and is quite a hit with the children there...(Hats off, LM !That was a beautiful introduction!) It doesn't bother her much that people are insensitive to her deficits...she must have learned to find goodness in everything, from her Badi Ammi... (The actress reminds me of both Najma and Nikhat!)

Anwar: The boy next door...with an equally benign looking mother...something is missing here...not sure. The characters are quite blank- they are either here for a short while, or they are yet to be explored.

Rehaan: Definitely cuter than Anwar. I hope he is the Akash to Hayaa's Payal.

Sanam Ahmed Khan: Sounds so good! And really is quite a wonderful heroine to follow. She is thankfully a cleanliness freak like her father, though Allah has taken care that Zoya does not complain- she inherits her Ammi's talkativeness and effervescence. She is a responsible young adult...and for once, Gul's heroine has an ambition to start with. 👏As Dilshad rightly said, she has no time for love or marriage...all she thinks about is her family...just like Asad. But then, she is a girl...however much Sanam wants to reject the idea of love, and wants to live practically...love comes knocking at her door. If there is a Sanam Ahmed Khan who lives for her family, there is also a part of her that could die for her family. And that little Passionate Ahmed Khan is capable of even burning cars when provoked...(Yeh bhi ussey viraasat pe mili hai, Mr. Aahil Razaa Ibrahim!😲 Woh bilkul apne chaachu pe gayi hai!😃😆)

Aahil Razaa Ibrahim (aka THE COCONUT!😆): As conventional and unconventional as a person can get! He melts at the mention of his Ammi, also known as Begum Sahiba. (Now.. since Begum Sahiba sounds like Rani Sahiba...and Karanvir looks like Shyam Babu a bit...I had my reservations when I heard the name...but the fondness with which he talks about her...I am betting on an entirely new character...would have loved it to be Shireen, who adopted her cousin's orphaned son or something, but I guess whoever went abroad stays there for good! But that pyromania agar issey virasat pe mili hai😡...toh I've had ittt!!! Lekin kuchh toh past ka connection hota haina Gul ke leads ke beech mein😭 If that is so, I really hope Tanveer married his dad and killed him..and now acts like the perfectest mother in the world!😃 ) He also hates Pudina chutney, loves making out anywhere and everywhere with anyone...and thinks he is God's gift to women. (Yuck!😲 )...He also inherits ASR's bg music...😲(unless I was hallucinating!😳) and whatever abuse track SP did not let Gul use in IPK!!!🤣 On the whole, he looks like a joker...and seems like he doesn't give two hoots about what I or anyone else thinks.😆

Sa- Hil: She thinks he is ill mannered and he thinks she needs to be tamed...and if Sanam wants him miles away, he wants her in his arms because he knows that unsettles her. Aahil is amused, when not angry with Sanam's response to him. And Sanam absolutely detests the guy...

The sweetest moment so far in the show: Sanam and Hayaa talking about love...followed by Aahil knocking at their door...and as Sanam sees the retreating figure in the night, there is an unspeakable joy and inexplicable heaviness in her heart...something she does not have the luxury to explore. (So she prefers to believe in the guy who will bring vegetables in the scooter.) Ahil's expressions while talking to Dilshad- that of respectfulness- along with the silhouette that Sanam sees...this was a glimpse into what Sanam would discover about him much later on.

The future: Dilshad fainted twice in one week...Aahil is around to start a new project...and along with that he has a mission- MISSION DHAABEWAALI!- Aahil talks about leaving the place so much...he might just have to settle down here for a while...till the Project is settled.

And its too early...But...where is Sehar Ahmed Khan? She is believed to be dead by Dilshad...Tanveer too, probably. Is she the girl who is crazy about Pizza, loves being messy, and can never forget or forgive... Will she come as the time before dawn' just as her twin's life gets engulfed by darkness? 🤓

There is so much to say Qubool Hai to!😳
