Hello I'm new to EHT forum and been reading all the interning posts. I have decided to finally make a post as noone seems to have discussed this yet.
From day 1 I have been curious to know the background/importance of Dr Thakur aka Durga's dad. Currently he's shown as a positive character all in support of Durga..though there's not much importance given to him besides a minor supporting role. Hypothetically if Payal is his daughter then one would expect to see more emotions in the father. Sometimes I wonder if he is actually Durga's real dad- considering there's talks of Durga being Payal's sister.
Also in the flashbacks didn't they show payal's parents already?

Not sure if I missed anything in the episodes so far..but I definitely would like a bit more importance to the dad's role - even though I understand the focus here is really on the key characters Durga & Shaurya. Mr & Mrs Goenka definitely do get a fair bit of screen space.

Would love to hear your comments...:)

1st of all Welcum 2 our Forum dear...
I'm Sapna...

N ya nice post... N I don't know y but from the beggining I was feeling that Dr.Takur also has some important past against the Goenkas if he's not Payal's dad(dere r chances of Dr.Dayal being Payal's dad... atleast 1%... 😆😆)...

I feel Dr. Thakur is a social worker too and the NGO which Durga runs might belong to him, maybe he helped Nitya/Durga with the makeover/plastic surgery. I don't think he is Durga's father, there could be his own personal reasons of revenge from Goenkas ! and hence he is supporting Durga.

If Durga is Nitya, Payal's sister and not Dr. Thakur's daughter...
3 chances are there
Dr. Thakur is some long lost rich uncle of Nitya's poor family, disowned or separated for some reason.
Or he has a personal grudge against Rajnath or Sakshi
Or he may also have had a daughter ditched by Shaurya 😆

I feel he has, in a sense, adopted Durga as his daughter. And is supporting her in her quest for revenge. But yes, I do feel he also has some ulterior motive for supporting her. Some sort of revenge of his own. But then..the Goenkas should haave recognised him. Or, he could be doing it for someone he cared for.
And ofcourse there is a tiny tiny TINY probability that in the end he also is revealed to have had a role in Payal's condition too. That would be a strong revelation, and the atory would end with Durga and Payal.

Interesting views... Roshni - I won't dismiss your view about Dr Thakur having played a part in payal's condition.
I guess anything is possible and it's too early in the show to know dr thakur's real motives.

However at this stage my main observation has been that the possible sister (Durga) appears to be quite emotionally affected by payal's state compared to the possible father (dr Thakur) - is that normal generally speaking?

Maybe I am looking too much into it.. I know us viewers should really focus on the hero(antagonist) & heroine but supporting characters are key to the story as well...

Even I had that idea, that a guilt might be diving him. Goenkas must have bribed him to change Payal's medical reports or something, or maybe threatened him. He must have realized the awful impact of his actions on Payal's mental health and decided to side her

they showed payal's parents and he was not her father
because her father was a driver working at the goenka's
may b he is closed to payal family like uncle and that's why payal and durga are said to be sisters

He's not their real father. He could've met Durga after Payal had been hospitalized, and seeing her plight, resolved to protect her. There was such z character in 'Revenge', the show it's supposed to be inspired from.
And yes..it could be guilt too..the reason he adopted her. Like i said, support her till the end till all her enemies have been eliminated, and when his crime comes to the forefront, accept her wrath himself.
