NOTE:
To all my dear readers. I wanted to apologize from the bottom of my heart. I hate it myself when writers disappear without completing the story and here I did the same. But FINALLY, the wait is over. I have already completed the next 3 chapters and I hope to complete the entire story asap.

If there is still a reader, comments and likes are much welcomed

Chapter 35

In Mishra Constructions, Geet and her team were preparing for the most awaited meeting of the year. An Indian company had shown interest of building multiple resorts in Germany and after reading the news about MC and KC, they wanted the new team to work together. Seeing the new project, Maan was in his element. Geet realised why Maan had been running KC so successfully before. Apart from his anger, he was a perfect businessman. Geet gave him his space and put her input from MC's side. After a long meeting, the clients finally left. Maan, who was in MC since the morning decided to stay there for lunch. The canteen, or rather a mini bistro, was located on the second floor. Every employee enjoyed their short break and even Adi and Vicky were having something before they continued to work. Geet and Maan joined the two.

"Wow, I still can't believe we will be working with such a big company." Vicky said somewhat dreamily. Adi was beaming too but he added.

"We need to choose our team wisely. Although I trust Seema and Yash, both are currently busy and do not have as much experience with the kind of designs we need." Maan nodded. He was about to say something when Geet said:

"Well, how about Sasha? I have seen her work, she is really good." Maan nodded.

"I agree. Sasha is our most experienced and talented architect. But the work will require her to move to Germany for some time."

"But that shouldn't be a problem, right? I mean, anyone would grab onto this opportunity." Maan decided to talk to Sasha himself when he saw her next.

"I will talk to her, beta." Savitry Devi patted Vicky's hand.

"But make sure you convince her in first go. If she refuses the idea now, it will be difficult convincing her otherwise."

"And Maan? Will he agree?" Vicky grinned.

"He will jump at the opportunity. You don't know how difficult it is for him to endure Nikhil around Geet."

Wanting to get this over with directly, Dadi visited Geet at MC.

"I am so glad to meet you again Dadi." Geet hugged the old lady.

"Well, since you never come to visit us, I thought I will come over." Geet looked ashamed.

"I am sorry, it is just that I have lot to do." But Dadi smiled and said:

"I know my dear. Handling one company is difficult to start with, you are handling two."

"Maan is doing most work at KC. Having gone down and coming up has taught him a lot." Geet smiled. Dadi agreed and wondered how she should get this topic started.

"Geet beta, after my husband died, I felt really alone. I had the company to handle and Shashank. At first I thought I will manage to live for the two but once KC was doing much better and Shashank grew up, I did feel the loneliness more than ever. Beta, you don't have to do this to yourself. You have a long life to live and it will be very painful alone." Geet protested.

"But I have my family. Riya and Armaan, Vicky, Adi, Pinky..."

"But Riya will get married one day, Armaan will too and the others have a family of their own."

"Don't you consider me part of your family?" Geet asked in a sad voice.

"I do and that is why I wanted to ask you something. Beta, in hindsight I should have married when I had the chance. I would never be able to love my second husband as much as my first one but love is one thing, companionship is another. I know that better than anyone else. I see Divya and Shashank, Dev and Naintara and I also want Maan to finally get settled with a girl who will stand by his side and be there for him." Now Geet looked very confused. She wondered why Dadi drifted off from the topic of her marriage to that of Maan's. Sensing her confusion, Dadi went for broke.

"I came here to ask you if you would marry Maan. Now, before you protest let me tell you that neither does he know I came to ask this, nor does it have anything to do with KC. I have not interfered in any of your decision so far because I know you did what was best for KC as well as Maan. That is why I am proposing this. You think of the best for everyone and yet you don't give in easily. Maan is stubborn and also arrogant but he has a good heart, especially for those he loves. If you say yes, I will ask him, if you say no he will never come to know. Just let me say that the two of you can go far and I mean not only professionally." Geet remained silent even after Dadi showed herself out. Riya, who had been listening from her room, came out.

"Geet?" she put her hand on Geet's shoulder.

"Riya, how can I even..." Riya understood Geet too well.

"Bhabi, if there would have been any chance no matter how small that Sohan bhai will come back, I would have told you to wait. But I know he is gone. I will never be able to love Maan as a brother as much as I love Sohan bhai but we can try, can't we? Dadi is nice, you also know Vicky and from what he keeps telling me, his family is big. They will take care of you and love you there."

"And you? And Armaan?" Geet gasped.

"What will he say to this? You know how he reacted when Sohan died. He will be heart broken."

"Geet, Armaan will understand. He is small and thinks emotionally. But please don't you do that. If not Maan, then anyone else will do as well. Think about it, ok.

Adi was at home, discussing a few things with Vicky. Pinky had gone to visit her aunt and if this important matter wouldn't have cropped up, Adi wouldn't have let her go alone.

"Adi, do you think Maan and Geet should get married?" Adi was shocked for a second but thought about it nevertheless.

"Maan and Geet...how come?"

"Maan likes Geet a lot. And we know that after Sohan died, Geet hasn't been herself. I talked to Dadi and even she finds that both will be good for each other. But Geet hasn't said anything yet."

"You told Dadi and asked her already?" Adi felt hurt for being left out of this important decision. Afterall, Geet was like a sister to him.

"Sorry dude, but only Dadi knows and that after she saw me and Geet in hospital. And yes, Dadi asked Geet after rumours spread about her and Nikhil. Maan bhai was badly hurt." Adi got up and walked over to the window.

"I know Maan. He is a good guy but he does before he thinks and that gets him into difficult situations."

"And Geet?"

"Geet thinks before she does and doesn't take anyone's shit." Vicky grinned.

"So?"

"I guess both would make a good pair. Both are totally complementary to each other but will they be able to love each other?"

"Adi, love grows in marriages. I have seen it with Dev bhai and Naintara bhabhi. The two hardly knew each other when they got married but now they are madly in love." Adi nodded.

"If Geet and Maan agree, I will be happy for them. God knows both deserve a happy ending." So it was fixed. They would wait for Geet's answer.

yay an update!
Hmm now Dadi has Geet thinking. Maan may not take Sohan's place but will carve a place of his own in Geet's heart. Cannot wait for the next :D
