Or should I say its not just a dance, its something more deeper, more profound, more soulful. It's a marriage playing out, a private relationship of a lifetime being enacted in public for a few minutes.
From total strangers, to hesitant friends, to finally destined soul mates, its a journey. And so was this dance. From the first awkward steps, to the gradual rhythm, to the pulsating beat and finally to a crescendo...they danced!! He saw her nervousness, her fear, her lack of confidence. An understanding, without words, the basis of a sound marriage. And she was afraid more for him, than for herself. She was terrified of embarrassing him, more worried about him being a laughing stock cause of her. And that's one pivotal point of this bond, putting your partner before yourself. And he assured her, not to worry, I will take care. And isn't that one more promise we make when we wed, through sickness and health, through poverty and wealth...through it all...I'll always be there for you. He asked her to trust him, ...and that very trust is the foundation. Blind, unrelenting, innocent, unbreakable faith in your life partner. He wont let me fall. She won't let me down.
And she handed herself to him, all her dreams, her fears, her strengths and weaknesses, allowing him to mold her, shape her, take over every inch of her. What stupendous conviction, what selfless giving!! Losing one's identity, one's all is never easy, but then, their can be no union without two souls blending in one.
And he steps in, guiding her, sometimes gently, sometimes firmly, at times possessively, and at places, wildly, after all isn't that what this relationship is all about. The various shades of love, and the different ways to handle your partner and your bond at the myriad stages in life. It is never a straight curve, always changing, with needs of time and tide, and with the necessities of your partner, you change, you adapt.
And the passions brim, boil, brew and some spill over. Two bodies, one dance!! Two bodies exploring, two hearts beating, two souls testing. The touches, some passionate, some awkward. The looks, some shy, some hooded with desire. The holds, too tight or too soft. He was desperate, so wanting to taste her soul, but mindful of her, and surroundings, reigned in his appetite. He too learnt to put her first before his needs. A pair of eyes full of desire, another shy and nervous. A pair of strong hands, ready for a lot more, and another pair of tiny hands, trying to find their mates. A pair of feet, guiding her not only through a dance, but through a life and finally let her rest herself on him. He will take responsibility, will protect, will lead, will guide, will always shelter...cause that too is a vow...one of the seven. And she will follow, and trust, beyond a lifetime.
To the tune of love and life, they did and always will dance gracefully. They will learn to keep pace with each other, measure their individual rhythms, gauge their strengths and weaknesses, and compensate for the same. Rudra and Paro will match their steps, blending in one swan song. After all...its not just a dance...
