Adiana and all my other dear friends here.
Not a chance, my poor, optimistic Adiana!
I do not think this Jodha would be able to understand even a tithe of all this high flown, lyrical philosophy of love. So your homilies to her will be completely wasted.
As for Jalal, he may be the perfect lover according to Rumi, Kahlil Gibran, Omar Khayyam and all the other icons of the genre, but he is now but a hollow shell of an emperor.
It was a deplorable episode, with the acting being, bar a few shots of Jalal, especially in the very end before the precap, terminally pedestrian and apathetic. if I see any more of Jalal's grieving, desperate face, I shall start climbing the nearest wall. Has Jalal/Rajat never heard of dignified grief and regret? I half expected him to start tearing his kurta and then run all over the place like a madman, or a Majnun, shouting Jodha Begum Jodha Begum!
That will happen in Amer. He has allowed himself to lie down roadside as a no-claim laash to 'find' her... then the madman is not far behind...he may even sing songs
'hum apni mohabbat ka imtehaan denge
tere kaksh ke saamne hum apni jaan denge'
and beg her to accept the worthless him. The moment he places his foot in the direction of Amer, I will want to borrow your belan and whip him mercilessly or want to cut his feet...his own past style.
Paridhi's Jodha could have been out of any soapy confection that clogs the TV programmes, flat and predictable to the last scowl. No nuances, no clash between heart and mind, no underlay of a love she cannot deny, nothing. Only a sullen resentment that spills out all over, rooted solely in her ego.And a new bhashan full of half truths and outright fibs -when did she worship Jalal? - with Jalal looking as if he has to learn it by heart for an exam he is to take.
She worships him - 'Go die anywhere except in Amer...nirankush shahenshah...kis mitti ke bane hain aap...MH aapse achche hain...' She could put Tulsi's and Meera's bhakti to shame.
Had he known to write, he looked as though he was ready to take notes. It might help him in his future bhaashans. That is all this Shahenshah is capable of now, apart from screaming without regret at his other hapless faceless begums.
Coming back to Jalal, what sort of emperor is this, who neglects his kingdom and his people for the sake of one woman? What if there was an attack on Agra while he is running after this wife of his?
Oh it was a high risk factor if he went out to play chaugan with Ruqaiya...but he is absolutely safe on the roadside...running after Jodha Begum. HB wouldn't care if Agra is attacked...nor would sb. Jalal is also transfiguring in spirit like those blinkered women.
If he now intends to go (specifically uninvited) after her all the way to Amer, he had better abdicate first. After all, it is not as though he attaches too much importance to his heritage and his calling; he was ready enough to abdicate just to keep his word to Jodha, something that shocked me, being a blatant betrayal of his rajadharma.
Gone are the days of 'Chengis Khan, Timur bloodline'.wonder if he remembers any of that now. !He can abdicate aunty, but then how can he implement his beloved's pet projects once he struggles and wins her back to Agra. If Agra is lost in his chase behind his lady, he can always win it back by another war and killing thousands in the process...but madam's pride is more important than the lives of those soldiers...
The two of them make me tired, and I wish both of them had been drowned in that lake. It would have been both good riddance and liberation at last.
Wish...šš
