Are looks important to be a singer???

I have noticed it quite a lot of times in II3 (I didn't watch any of the previous Indian Idols so can't comment on those) that the judges specailly Anu and Alisha give importance to looks.

I'm glad tehy didn't refuse that girl (who is 17 i think) just because she is too-short in thier eyes...

Are they really that important? Do you really need to be a good-looking-over-the-top-personailty type of person to be a singer? Or ot even take part in the programme/contest?

Just my views, no offence to any of the participants or judges.

i think it does create a first impression...for the judges as well as the viewers...

wenever a goodlooking guy/girl is seen, we get excited and hope they turn out to be good singers...wheras other contestants...we just wait for them to sing...

but i think the final verdict is really on their voice...some ppl can be really goodlooking but absolutely besure...they will get a no...but sumtimes if they are okay singers...looks do play a part...they have an advantage over other okay singers...

yeah for me too talent is more important while choosing my favorite and deciding to support him/her...

but i guess the first impression....wen s/he is shown for the first time...i do look forward to their performance...but my judgement on their performance is completely on how they sing...

i think not only judges..but we also go for looks..
when the look doesnt impress us we dont have interest in there songs as well..most times.. 😆
it has hapend many times here also.. 😆

if there is some good or talented singer then i think its natural he wud look good to us 😆 😳

Yes I think looks r important if it is an entertainment program on TV. Else not... 😃

looks are the least important thing for a singing contest

jugding based on looks is wrong because the contestant could be the most talented and deserving out of everyone else

u can work on ones' looks, but cannot work on bad voice 😆 😆 so for me looks doesn't matter, its the voice that makes a singer and not looks. 😊
