His writing is embarrassingly one dimensional. Theres noproblem if you write a story in a simple fashion but the storytelling has to be beautiful just like books of Khaled Hosseini which will sweep your feet away. This guy doesn't have any depth and isn't a quality writer at all.

that's coz youth hardly has any depth 😆

People live upto stereotypes a lot. There are exceptions everywhere but the stereotype people remain. And even people who are the exceptions will carry some of the stereotype behaviors. But it's good not to look at people at first through the stereotype glass...

I am a Tamilian too and while I loved the book to bits, my mother was pretty offended by it!😆
I thought Chetan made more fun of Punjabi's rather than Tamilian. One reason could be that his wife Anusha is his first proof reader and he didn't want to mess around by making fun of her community too much!😆
PS: Some of his observations made in the book regarding Tamilians (and Punjabi's too) are pretty on the spot, though!

I am a Tamilian too and I agree with both of you. I am not at all silent or quite...I am a completely vivacious and talkative girl. I dance quite often for no reason too and my mom calls me MAD !!😆

When I read the book's summary, I thought it would be something like Ek Duje Ke Liye, sad and lovely...but it was NOTHING like that...this book was just quirky and sooo much fun.
No matter how many times I read, I never get tired of it ! 😃

Many of his observations are quite true and when I see those happening right in front of my eyes, I just burst of laughing. But ya...the book was just super-awesome. 👏

P.S. The interview was well answered.

There are sterotypes everywhere
Punjabi's are LOUD - So true

Tamilian's are BLACK - Yes Yes

Delhities are OTT - YES YES

They might look highly pretentious and offensive but some where these are really true... It might not be exactly catering to 100% of population of respective culture but major portion do have these traits
