Well, my dear Divya,
I have shared my feelings about this episode, to be precise about those mesmerising 11:56 minutes of Jalal's stormy near monologue, at quite excessive length in my post
Shakespearian Heights. In fact I was impressed that so many, including you, not only lasted thru those 7 pages in Georgia 11 font, but still had the stamina to comment about it! Thank you, my dear.
Thank you also for this peppy and yet very faithful take on the whole. I agree in toto with all that you have said here, especially about Jodha's answer to his question about
mohabbat. HOW could she answer Yes to that, and then talk about her relationship with her brother being sullied?
And could she not see what torment he was going thru? How could she stand there like a lamp post and not utter the 3 words needed to put Jalal out of his misery.
Mohabbat? Haan, bhai jaise. That was all that was needed.
Or else, there was a beautiful speech that Sandhya had imagined for her, which I am now reproducing without her permission, in the hope that she will not object to it!
"I had really expected her today to release her clutched dazzling lehenga and weep saying ' Hamein Kshama keejiye Shahenshah! Hum apne bhai ko diye hue vachan ke kaaran aapse sach nahin kah paaye. Aur hamare kaaran se aapko itni tes pahunchi hai.
Hum kabhi bhi kisi aur ke bare mein soch nahin sakthe hain Shahenshah. Bahut prayatna kiya ki aapse prem na karein. Par asaphal rahe. Hum apni bhaavnayein aapko bathane hi wale the Shahenshah aur yeh aandhi aa gayi. Hamein pata nahin tha ki aap bhi humse prem karne lage hain...
Hamare kaaran aapko itna kasht hai...nahin...yeh teek nahin hai... hum aapko aur kasht nahin de sakthe...hum apne charithra par bhi prashna nahin sah sakthe. Hamein apne bhaisa ko diya hua vachan thodna hoga...bhai-behen ke rishthe par kiye gaye prashna ka spashteekaran dena hoga... aapke man ko shanthi deni hogi'"
Now how would that have been? The CVs would have lost 2 weeks worth of episodes! Which is why no such thing happened.
This apart, my dear Divya, I think yours is a very welcome and much needed initiative. Do keep it up and I will visit all your posts without fail, even if a day late, to boost my often flagging spirits!
