Imperial College of Communications.

It was a dream she had been harboring for months. It only took her a few days to start wishing she had never come here. Despite all her personal pep talks, she was still a base coward inside.

'Meri Fattu Moti!'

That's what he used to call her a lot in Royal. Nowadays he hardly called her 'Moti'. Just a few days in this new place and they had gotten so distant. They hardly met and whenever they did, all she saw was him surrounded in darkness. The one he had gotten rid of after years of struggle. It was back much more stronger than before.

She saw him surrounded by his new friends, Kiya by his side mostly if not all the time. Just a few days in and they had gotten so popular in this new place. Hanging out with the rich and influential with such ease as if they belonged there. She knew that he did belong there. But still, it felt a little strange. He had just gotten so distant from her.

New friends. Old enemies. New strategies. Old agendas. He was so caught up in this blend of new and old that she felt like she no longer belonged there with him. She did tell herself in the middle of the night before drifting off to sleep that it was all for the good. This was a new life for her and a great chance to carve a path of herself which was detached from him.

And if she was completely honest with herself, from them. The family which was formed in Royal and broken so royally on the last day of that life. She had gone to every one of them, individually and begged them all to understand. But all it did was drain her off and exhaust her emotionally. Everyone welcomed her, no one listened to her. All of them had made their own version of the story, their minds so occupied of how they thought the others to be that they had completely turned a blind eye to what they actually were. And after a while, she had turned a blind eye to them as well.

'To each their own.' Yeah, that was right. It wasn't her obligatory duty to make them all stick together. And if Jaitley thought that she would do that all the time, all her life; well then, even Junglee could be wrong.

As for him, well he did try to maintain his equation with her like it was in Royal. With him always finding time and ways to make sure she was a part of the everything that he did. But it had proved to be a very hard task for him. The change in their schedule owing to them being pursuing different majors was just a small part of the reason.

The vacant look in her eyes that he had seen in the car hadn't completely left him. he thought that giving her a little space would make things alright between them but that little space had stretched into a void. They hardly had any conversations now, only saw each other once or twice a day for some fleeting moments and whenever they did see each other, he saw her chatting away with her new friends about God knew what. At times he got a little pissed off at her for not coming over like she always did and asking him what was up with him. He could really use her help. Didn't she know how much he needed her? He was finally growing up, finally becoming a man which she always pushed him to be and yet, she wasn't there to witness it.

This new place, Imperial College of Communication, was giving him a chance to be the man he could never be in Royal. All the times he could've come out victorious but he never did, this place and the people here were giving him a chance to redo them. He could be the winner she always said he had the potential to be. She should be with him. Everyone who supported him, his new friends, all of them were great but none of them were her. He had gotten close to Kiya since the dreaded Alpha Plus but again, she wasn't his Moti.

Sometimes though, the times when it was really late at night and he was just seconds away from falling asleep, he wondered if Panchi was even his Moti anymore. Was this new place, which was turning out to be great for him on so many levels in such a short amount of time, turning him into someone who easily live and survive without his best friend?

And lastly, why didn't this thing bother him much?
