Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlati Hai's Devyani Singhania (Kshitee Jog) may be a lousy homemaker according toBhabhimaa(Medha Sambutkar), but she was never a bad mother.Devyani had two kids from her previous marriage, were taken away coz she lost the legal battle and the custody.
Devyani didn't even get visitation rights to her child, either coz she had a really bad lawyer or her husband's representatives were that good. Though the reason forDevyani'sdivorce remained unclear, her first husband twisted several facts to his convenience. He told the young children, Muskaan (Zarina Roshan Khan)and Naman (Anshul Pandey) that their mother left them and never wanted to keep in touch. Devyani abandoned them coz she was selfish. The children have grown up to believe all the concocted stories their father said and resent their mother.
After so many years, Devyani meets her children and is trying to know more about them. While Naman hates her and won't pay heed to anything she says, Muskaan is curious about her mom. She tried to get in touch with her mother, but her father dissuaded her attempts.
Well we knowAkshara(Hina Khan) knows about Devyani's issues and will do almost everything in her power to reunite the mother and children. But it's a long wait till that happens.
