I liked Mata e Jaan's story..I found it better than Humsafar and this is solely in terms of the script presented in both these shows. However, Mata e Jaan despite having a more intriguing story fell flat.
I love Adeel Hussain and I like Sarwat..but I didn't see much of chemistry between the two in this show. Mehreen Jabbar usually does an amazing job capturing the chemistry between even the most odd couples out there..I don't know what happened here but the chemistry wasn't as amazing as it should've been because Haniya and Ibaad's relationship was the soul of the show.

I haven't read the novel, yet I was disappointed with Mata e Jaan..but, how were the emotions presented in the novel? reason why I ask this is because most people say that the emotions weren't translated well onscreen.

Is that because of the performances? any changes in script? direction? or stuff they left out in the show? If anyone who has read the novel can answer this because I'd like to know.

I wish there were more interactions between Ibaad and Haniya on campus. I really liked those. I think Mehreen directed those really well.

well there were more in the novel... i do not know about other ppl but for me when i started reading the novel, i was very impressed by Hania's character. it started when she leaves US and comes to Pak to Abi's parents...the first scene was, um i think, when she has an interview with Abi's Dad...
another thing was its pace and sequence of events... commendable work by Ishtiaq.
She was simple yet magnetic...
The relationship between Abi and Hania was quite deep... and so was Hania's relationship with his parents. For me the part with her parents was much more appealing then the one with Abi... i cant tell why! but it was something you dont read in every other novel! Farhat does that in everything she writes... Abi dies but the novel doest decline... she keeps him there to its end... which was actully lovely...😳
