Mentor’s Topic for Round 8

Welcome to the Round 8 - Mentors' Topic !!!

The theme for this round is -Patriotic/Motivational/Inspirationalsongs. They can be filmy or non filmy.

There is no change in the rules. All your entries should be submitted to your respective mentors on time so that he or she can post the songs here on the last day ofRound 8submission by the deadline. The result of Round 7 will be announced AFTER the songs of Round 8 are posted. The ones who are eliminated, their songs will not be sent to the judges. And if for any reason the last date gets extended then the results will also be posted on that extended last date.

Mentors, you are requested to note that this round is the last chance for any Wild Card entry. Please post here if any of your contestants is going to take the wild card entry.

Dear mentors and Participants...

You would have noticed that in the last mentor thread, Barnali'di had posted the revised rounds schedule... And in that, there was a 10th round that said...

The coordinating team has decided that the song that the singers will sing based on their own choice will be Indipop...

While for the common song that all the singers will sing will not be so.. Basically, we were looking for a good melodious number for this round that has been sung both by a male and a female singer before... so that its fair on all our contestants...

Among man such lovely songs, the one that we have finalized for this round that all the singers will have to sing will be

'Teri aakhon ke siwa duniya me rakkha kya hai'

A lovely composition from the movie 'Chiraag' and sung beautifully by both Lata Mangeshkar and Md. Rafi - the song provides ample opportunities to emote...

We have announced the song much in advance so that the mentors and the participants have all the time to prepare for the same...😊

Oops what a difficult song has been chosen for the 'common song round'!

Can we have another song something that has melody and rhythm both. This song will be rendered very well by one section of the contestants while few others will not be comfortable.

This song is going to be sung in the 10th round, when we should have the 6-7 best singers in the contest.. Would it be too tough for them as well? We also want to have a song that has both a male and a female version so that it is fair on all..

Also wanted to know if the other mentors also thought likewise about the song.. We will internally discuss and let you know of the updates if any..

No issues with the song itself.

However, I request the judges to keep allowances for differences in style. This song should be treated as a new version every time a different singer sings it.

That would be fair.

Thanks for your comments Tanaz and Priya... We have also received PMs from contestants where they have said that they have themselves said that the perfect song has been selected and they are comfortable rendering it..

So we will stick to this song for the common song round.

I need an extension till 23rd May (12noon IST will also do). Can it be done? One of my contestant has some personal problem so won't be able to submit the song before 22nd night.
