Salman Khan's office sends warning to filmmaker, docu-drama shelved
Filmmaker Muazzam Beg is facing a tough time having shelved his project after Bollywood superstar Salman Khan's office threatened legal action over the alleged misuse of his name.
Director of the film 'Munna Bhai, Sallu Bhai' Muazzam Beg apparently received an email from Salman's office asking him to refrain from using the actor's name for the promotion of his film. The film was a docu-drama based upon the huge fan following of actors Sanjay Dutt and Salman Khan.
According to a leading daily, after director Muazzam Beg ignored the mail and continued promoting the film, he was informed about the legal repurcussions that he might face.
The daily has also added that Beg has now decided to not go ahead with the project, having already shot 30 percent of it. Beg apparently regrets not being able to make the film as he was going to tell a die-hard Salman fan's story.
The director also regrets that he did not take Salman's permission before proceeding with the film. Sanjay Dutt on the other hand, apparently had no issues whatsoever.
