You see Karna's story is entirely different. He is one character of Mahabharat that you love and hate at the same time. You love him for his kindness, loyalty, strength and power. He was extremely rigid morally and he actually had a heart of gold.
But, all was never too well in his life. He always wondered why his mother abandoned him. He always felt insulted when he was called a sut. He didn't like the fact that, just because of his race, he was always shrugged off. And to add salts to his wounds, Karna was cursed many times because of innocent mistakes he didn't even mean to commit.

Duryodhan was actually not as bad as he is being portrayed here. He was just always in bad company and his mind was highly polluted because of the bad influence. He also was a shunned soul. Inspite of being the King's first son, he never had the right over the throne because of Yudhishtir. So he somewhat shared common grounds with Karna. When Karna was discovered by him, he immediately aided him and declared him his dear friend and the King of Anga. This moved Karna to an extent that he vowed to stay by his friend all throughout his life. Duryodhan on his side, was a brilliant friend to Karna aswell. He always respected him and gave him the honour he deserved, something which his own mother decided not to give him.

So when you look at it from Karna's perspective, what Duryodhan was doing was not entirely wrong. He was just trying to get the throne he thought he deserved. And because Karna was such a devoted friend he could oversee the adharmas Duryodhan committed. Infact, Draupadi's insult took the heights of disrobing because Karna instigated it. Duryodhan only wanted to make her his dasi.

yup... i think character of Karna was too emotional... see he was an outcast person and a PRINCE made him a KING... He was no one and suddenly Duryodhan made him a king... it was a natural reaction from a human...

Karna is just too loyal...he easily gets manipulated by duryodhan and shakuni...he allows himself to get involved in their wrong deeds and ignores the warnings of vrushali...

he was not blinded but bound by loyalties. He had decided where his loyalties lay and he stuck with them

Is it right to support evil? when u knw that u r friend is always does some sort of adharm and finds excuses so will u support him with his evil deeds in name of friendship or Will u try to show him some better way out...
Being a Suryaputra himself he was not able to choose right path for himself ! He himself said that I'll always stay with u my friend and protect u...But protect whom? One who is evil who does adharm..Is it right and justified?
Karna lost his brave sons bcoz of his so called adharmi friend in war so waste of power and bad choice

Agree with anu.Being loyal to your friend doesn't mean that you support even when he's following a wrong path and committing sin after sin without even feeling ashamed.A true friend will somehow or the other show his friend to follow the correct path. If Karan was a true friend he would have tried ways and means of guiding Duryodhan through the correct path, the path of dharma. But,unfortunately he too started supporting him even to the extent of disrobing his Brother's wife just to take revenge and thus indirectly committing adharm.

See one thing we must remember is that Karna was human. Sometimes when our lives are filled with hatred and ignorance, we tend to see the world the way it sees us. The same thing happened with Karna. Duryodhan was one man who gave him honour and respect, something he didn't see all throughout his life. So being a person, why would Karna give up his one chance to prove his excellence? You forget one more thing here, Karna hated Arjun, he was determined to prove that he was a better archer than Arjun. So when Duryodhan made him the king of Ang, he had every opportunity to provoke Arjun to battle him. He had the blood of a king, so his nature was to fight to prove his strength and greatness.

Personally I like Arjuna better than Karna. Arjuna was a much better person at heart. Why I can point out that he had a tough life aswell. Inspite of being a prince he was born in the forest, he was always in constant tiff with his own cousins. He had to share his wife, he was sent off to exile twice and bear the vision of his own cousin trying to disrobe his wife. So what made Arjun more tolerant than Karna? His heart, something that didn't have place for immorality and evil. So here Arjuna was human too, but he just chose wisely and thus he was right.

I was never told by anybody that Karna was a man one must look upto. I was told to look upto Krishna and learn things from him. Karna was not God, he was human. So he was bound to make mistakes. He is definately not some idol who can teach us everything. But there are somethings that we can always learn from him, like how untainted he was when it came to worldly pleasures. He was always ready to give alms to those in need, irrespective of the situation and place. So Karna is a highly complicated dude, but he was surely not bad. He was wrong.
