😊

Hello Friends
today is international day for the elimination of racial discrimination

The International Day for the Elimination of Racial Discrimination is celebrated annually on March 21 to commemorate the victims of the 1960 Sharpeville massacre in South Africa and to denounce racism globally. The victims of the Sharpeville massacre were merely protesting the Apartheid-era law that required black South Africans to carry passes, which restricted their movement throughout the country. The callous brutality shown in taking the lives of so many children and parents was a horrible demonstration of the hatred that racism can inspire, and serves as a reminder of why racism must be eliminated.
While the International Day for the Elimination of Racial Discrimination was born from the blood of black South Africans defending themselves against the policies of Apartheid South Africa, we know that racism still thrives everywhere in a variety of overt and subtle ways
We see racial discrimination at work in particular. Whether it be the lack of diversity and inclusion in various public, private, and non-profit organizations, or workplace bullying that is allowed to persist unchecked, racism continues to stain our workplaces with its unsightly mark.

Manu Excellent Post !!

The World Conference against Racism, Racial Discrimination, Xenophobia and Related Intolerance , underlines the key role that political leaders and political parties can and ought to play in combating Social Evil .

At the World Conference and subsequent Review Conference, States also recognized that promoting greater respect and trust among different groups within society must be a shared but differentiated responsibility of government institutions, political leaders, grassroots organizations and citizens.

This year's theme was chosen by the Office of the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights to highlight key role that leaders play in mobilising political will to combat racism and racial discrimination

The day aims to remind people of racial discrimination's negative consequences. It also encourages people to remember their obligation and determination to combat racial discrimination.

A poem by an African
When I was born,i was black
When I grow up,i will be black
When I go in sun,i remain black
When I am scared,I am black
When i am unwell,I remain black
when i die also..i remain black

and a white fella
when u born,u pink
when u grow up,U white
when u go in sun,u red
when u are scared,u yellow
when u are sick,u r blue
when u die,u grey

and u are calling me coloured??

Thanks for the excellent post Manu.😊😊
Discrimination of any sort is unacceptable and inhuman. Humankind and all living beings are creation of God. The colour of our blood is same . Our body has the components of air ,water, fire, sky and earth. When the basics are same then why this superficial discrimination.
Apparthied is the greatest disease which has infested the globe. People like Nelson Mandela fought against it throughout his life. Racial discrimination should be opposed tooth and nail and denounced vehemently.
