Chapter 40 - Do Dil Ek Jaan
Welcome everyone to the wedding of our lovely couple, Raghu and Antara! Before you read this update, I just want to take a moment to say thank you to each and every single reader of this story! All of your constant support is the only reason that I have been able to write this story and especially this part! Thank you for all of the support and the lovely comments! It really does mean a lot!
I think that's enough of my bak bak now so I'll let you guys read the update now! Oh wait! I just got back from school so it's sort of edited but not really! So please excuse any mistakes, please and thank you! 😊
Without further ado, here is the last part of Do Dil...Ek Jaan!
"Bas kuch ghaante aur, phir tu Mrs. Raghuveer Singh ban jaai gi, hamesha ke liye," I say, lying back on my bed. "Haan... Aur phir hum hamesha hamesha ke liye do dil ek jaan ho jayenge na?" she asks. "Haan... Jo pichli baar poora nahi ho paya tha, woh iss baar zaroor hoga," I reply.

"Raghu, koi aa raha hai, main tumse baad mein baat karti hoon," she says. "Accha sun na Miss. Kaul, I love you." I could tell that she was blushing on the other side. "Raghu... I love you too," she says and hangs up.

I pick up the picture of Antara that is on my table. "I love you," I say. "Bahut jald tu mere paas hogi."

I pick up the teddy that Raghu had given me on my birthday. "Ab bas kuch der aur Raghu," I say hugging it. "Phir hum hamesha ke liye ek saath rahenge."

The eve of the wedding

"Antara, tum tayaar ho gayi?" my mom asks, walking into my room. I turn around to show her my wedding dress. "Kaisi lag rahi hoon mom?" I ask. "Bilkul ek paari ki tarah," she says and gives me a kiss on my forehead.

I smile despite all of the conflicting emotions within me. I was getting married to the one I loved, the one I could give up my life for. But I was also leaving my family. My family who loved me a lot and had always supported me.

"Antara Di, baraat aa gayi," one of my cousins says, opening the door. "Antara, main abhi aati hoon," my mom says. Everyone else leaves as well and I walk over to the window to catch a glimpse of Raghu. Sure enough, the first face I find out of all of them is Raghu's. I look at him. He was looking handsome in the red and gold sherwani. Seeing that beautiful smile on his face made my smile even wider, if that was possible.

I look around for Antara but can't find her. The corner of my eye catches something at the window and I look up there. It was Antara. She was looking beautiful in that lengha. I could feel my heart skip a beat. Finally, it was happening. I just hoped that nothing would happen like last time. There was no one, not a single person that could come between me Antara. No one.

"Bhai, woh dekhiye, bhabhi aa gayi," Riya says from behind me. I was sitting at the mandap, waiting for Antara to come when Riya told me this. I turn around and find my beautiful princess coming down the stairs. That lengha was gorgeous and it made Antara look even more beautiful.

She looks up from the ground and meets my eyes. It was as if I was falling in love with her all over again. My mind goes through all of our memories, from this life and our previous one. All of those moments were special but none of them could beat this one. This moment was something else within itself. A moment that we could never forget, not even if we wanted to.

My eyes meet Raghu's as I take them off of the ground. I could feel my heart skip a beat with every step I took. Each step took me closer to Raghu, to my Raghu. Raghu, the man who I loved, the man who was the most important for me.

This moment was too precious. It was a moment of a life time, one that could never be forgotten.

I finally make it to the mandap and sit down next to Raghu. What didn't happen last time would happen this time for sure. There was nothing that could ever change the amount of love for Raghu in my heart. Nothing. I trusted Raghu more than anyone else in this world and I was sure that he wouldn't break my trust.

I smile at Antara as she sits next to me. We go through the various rasams that the pandit explains to us and then it's time for the jaimala.

We stand up and as Antara goes to put jaimala around my neck, one of my friends picks me up. "Raghu, this is not fair," Antara says. "All is fair in love and war," he says. She makes a face and then Arjun comes and picks her up. Her face lights up again and she manages to get it around my neck without any more problems. I put the jaimala around her neck and we both smile at each other.

Raghu and I stand up for the pheres. He takes my hand and leads me around the holy fire so that we could complete our sacred vows, which would bind us in a this beautiful relationship of husband and wife forever.

These vows that we take around the holy fire bind us for all eternity. I tighten my grip on Antara's hand as she takes the lead for the last few.

Raghu helps me sit back down and the happiness on his face is priceless as he picks up the manglsutra and places it around my neck. He meets my eyes and under the pretense of clasping the hook behind my neck, he leaves a small kiss on my cheek. I blush and if possible, my smile grows even wider.

I take the pinch of sindoor and watch Antara's eyes close as I fill her maang with it. She opens her eyes and a tear rolls out. I stop it before it can fall too fall down her cheek.

The sound of applauds erupt in the hall as Antara and I stand up, finally married to each other.

Antara gives me a hug and I rest my chin on her head, glad that we were finally one. The marriage that had been left incomplete for so long was now fulfilled. "Congratulations, Mrs. Raghuveer Singh." "Finally, that name is mine. And mine only," she says oh so softly so that only I can hear.

My head rests on Raghu's chest and my heart feels complete. I was Raghu's now, forever and ever. Just his.

The entire family looks at the newly wedded couple, tears of joy and the sound of loud applauds fill the room as the two had finally become what they were meant to be. Do dil...ek jaan.
