He changed the rules of the game.
For 8 years, all she heard from him was about the fallacies of love. Love set you up for disappointment,he said.He swore he would never fall in love and she believed him.
She was okay with her unrequited love, because she believed that even if he did not love her, he needed her. He needed her to be his confidant, his sounding board, his lover. That was enough for her...for this lifetime. She saw her reflection in him, both broken , battered, exploited by the people they loved. In her mind, it was them against the shallow, callous world.
She would follow him everywhere like she did from Jaipur to Chandangarh, just to be available for him..such was her love for him.Never asking, always giving.

Today at the haveli, she did not mean to harm Paro, but she couldn't get through to Rudra, couldn't make him tell her his reasons for behaving irrationally and getting married to a girl who he hated. She couldn't place her "Jaanwar", he was changing before her eyes, into an "Insaan" she didn't recognize. She was beautiful too, she could keep Rudra happy, then why was he choosing Paro over her?.
Her feelings of desperation and loss of control over the situation, seeing Rudra slipping away from her, led her to attacking Paro. She was not that person, she had never gotten out of control, never harboured a thought of hurting another human being. She didn't hate Paro, it was just that she loved Rudra...a lot.

As she walked away from the haveli, silent tears rolled down her cheeks...knowing that she would never be held in his arms again, never hear him say "Laila" with the angry overtone to his voice... knowing that she had lost Rudra forever to Paro.

This is my take on Laila...I believe unrequited love can be the most painful. It's not a love that you lost, but a love that you never had. You were hoping it would one day be reciprocated, but it was not to be.

We can all hate Laila and say that Rudra did not promise her a life of sunshine and roses, but when you've spent a considerable amount of time intimately(both physically and emotionally) with one person,it's inevitable that the emotional quotient might change, if not for both the people involved, atleast for one of them.

When Laila started pleading at the end of the epi..I kind of felt for her...I forgot about the shower scene and actually felt Laila's desperation. On a lighter note..Rudra is kind of a hottie... I would not want to be in Laila's shoes...and lose him.

Very good.Yes they have history together. If not love at least affection and friendship. She sees all that slipping away, her years of investment in this relationship being overshadowed by a slip of a girl.Paro the gauche innocent replacing her in Rudras affections is too much for her.Would love to know het and Rudras back story.

Thanks...I agree...me too how they met and the circumstances under which they met. But since this is the Paro-Rudra love story and Laila an unwanted third wheel , I doubt that will ever be shown. Oh well, don't know if this is the last time we see her.

Yes. I hoped Laila would get such a mature treatment, but I guess with the dagger, we must now believe she's a completely negative character. It wasn't Rudra's non reciprocation that bothered her much. She believed that he hates love, and no woman can ever change that. In comparison, Rudra somewhat let Laila into his personal space. She saw it as a privilege and truly thought herself special.
What she can't tolerate is the fact that not only is R protecting Paro, he's also getting married to her with all pomp and show. I completely get her. I don't downright hate her, but I still think a major section of the audience would be against her.

Seems a pity that cvs not got the courage to properly take on this theme of the triangle. They could show Rudras pull towards Paro whilst he feels at least some guilt for abandoning Laila.I suppose Indian audiences wont accept this.

i don't blame laila...i never did...
it's just her desperation...her lack of control over something she had for 8 years...
she is someone who doesn't have family...
only rudra...with whom she spend such a long time together...
her only relationship..
n when she saw that only relation going out of her hand...she acted out in desperation...
she is not evil...she just don't want to lose rudra...her only meaning breathe,...
maybe soon...we will see some more shades of laila...

hmm true as expected , cvs will make her negative completely black , other wise rudra would look bad
i dont know ...tv soaps cant expect more
but i would have liked if rudra was more polite to laila and tried to calm her down , he owes her man
but after yesterday not much hope , putting acid on a girl without knowing the full story is bad enough for the audience to hate laila

it is not possible to reciprocate love in the same intensity to every one (clearly laila is a companion and rudra doesnot love her as much as she does) but he can definitely appreciate and try to give a closure
why does he want laila to be that dood peta bacha ,have all the passive anger and turn into a ganvar

after that laila turns negative i am all in

Firstly RR is not a love triangle...it's purely on Paro & Rudra and all the other forces (including Laila) that pull Paro and Rudra towards each other and apart.

Laila's angle is brought in to expose one of the many grey shades of Rudra. And how this would affect the PaRud relationship. Would Paro come to love him completely knowing he was in a physical relationship with another woman for several years? Does she as a white woman accept this grey side of Rudra? Will she question him about it? yes she will...when the time is right.

At this point of time if asked Paro would willing tell Laila, thank you very much you can have him much to the chagrin of Rudra ofcourse.

Now what attracted Rudra to Laila the woman eight years ago? What made him invest his time on one single woman. The simple reason is no strings attached give and take. Nothing more and nothing less. They had no expectations from each other. Before Paro came in the picture, Laila never once asked before for what she demanded of him yesterday. Hence the shock of hearing her saying things. Had she done so, he would have ended this relationship right then and there. Paro or no Paro.

I agree he needs to apologise that he cannot give Laila what she expects out of him. She is not the one for him. And it's not her fault. And she cannot blame it all on Paro.

But as you say Laila did not plan on falling in love with Rudra. And in the same way Rudra did not plan on falling in love with Paro (he is getting there)...

Hence they both changed the rules of the game
