Queenie Dhody
A page 3 diva, the gorgeous former Miss India is famous for her exquisite baubles, bags, shoes and wardrobe. Queenie always adored wearing jewellery and turned her passion into a full-time job by starting her own company: Jewels by Queenie.
Her Style Statement
Says Queenie: "Each of my jewellery pieces are a style statement-- even my traditional jewellery is fun and every piece I design is something I would wear." The biggest thing about style, according to Queenie "is to wear what you fit into comfortably and what suits your body type. Select something that suits your mood. Comfort is about confidence as much as about clothing."
Queenie's Platinum
Her rock sized diamonds set in platinum, ruby sets, cocktail rings and traditional jewellery are worn by India's swish set. Seen in the image above ,the svelte Queenie wearing a stunning platinum and diamonds bracelet photographed by her buddy and India's ace photographer Vikram Bawa.

Queenie Dhody as she appeared in Vogue Italia (March 2003) in an article about the most stylish women of MumbaiShe's a style icon, a former Miss India, and a member of Mumbai's A-list society.
But Queenie Dhody is also a devoted mother who will not leave home until her nine-year-old daughter and six-year-old son are tucked in for the night — even if that leaves her with only 15 minutes to get ready for the big party.
A businesswoman too, Queenie recently launched a skin care line — Skin Essence and already has a line of jewellery called Jewels by Queenie (her next exhibition is from October 18 to 20 at Yantra, Fort).
And from this Friday fashionista Queenie will give Mid Day readers a free makeover every fortnight. A look into her style mantras:
Look good, feel good: Looking good is not just about being attractive to the opposite sex; but it also about being confident. People have busy lives but just like you find time to brush your teeth and hair, make that 20-minute effort to look good.
Personal experience: When you model you go through a training process that teaches you to get ready in minutes. Modelling is about stepping out and stunning people with your look. I try to be critical of myself — if I feel I will not look right in an ensemble, I will not wear it even if it is my favourite outfit. I do pilates at home about three times a week. I have a great regard for people who respect their bodies.
Nobody's perfect: Every woman has weak points, but it's better not to highlight those. So make sure you look at yourself from all angles before you step out, and ensure that you are highlighting your strengths. People should have mirrors at home that show them their backsides. You may look great from the front, but what about your back? Awareness helps fix weaknesses.
Blush before you rush: My quickest get-ready routine takes five minutes including a two-minute shower. My advice to women on the run — use a concealer on any spots, or for dark circles — a concealer can work wonders to you're appearance.
A pale person should use a touch of blush on the apples of her cheeks, and dark lips could do with a dash of pink or some other lighter shade to lift the face.
Comfort is key: The biggest thing about style is to wear what you fit into comfortably and what suits your body type. Select something that suits your mood. Comfort is about confidence as much as about clothing.
