Chapter 4 It was Sunday morning. The sun beamed through the window of Aarthi and Ansh's room.
Aarthi lazily opened her eyes. She saw her loving son sleeping next to her.
She kissed her forehead and said
"Good morning beta"
Ansh opened his eyes and smiled at Aarthi.
"Good morning ma." Saying this he hugged Aarthi.
"Ma, it's Sunday. Great. Tomorrow school and I can meet my Yash uncle."
Aarthi felt some fear covering her heart. She remembered Shobha ma's words.
"Ansh beta, As Tuesday is your birthday. Why don't you invite this Yash uncle of yours to our place. In that way I and your grandmother can get to know him too."
"Ok ma! I'll do it. Oh ma I'm so happy. He will come to my birthday. It's the biggest gift I've ever got. Think ma. When he comes it will be like family. You, ma and him. I know he's not my father. How I wish he was,but we can imagine that na? So no need to worry. Oh Monday come soon." Saying this he kissed Aarthi and rushed to the bathroom.
Aarthi watched her son dancing happily and rushing to the bathroom.
"Oh Prashanth! why did you leave us. See your son is yearning for your love. How can I bring that happiness to him. I would marry for him but all the men who came to take my hand had other intentions. They were not bothered about our Ansh and I want to marry because of Ansh only. Prashanth, I don't know who is this Yash? I hope no harm will come to our son through him. Ansh loves him a lot. I saw his happiness today. Prashanth help me in this matter."
Monday at school.
Ansh was so excited to invite Yash he went in search of him. At last he found him near the library. Ansh ran towards him.
"Yash Uncle!!Yash uncle!!"
"Ansh beta. What happened? Is everything all right? You are panting."
"Uncle ... Uncle... tomorrow is my birthday. Will you come to my place tomorrow. ..Please do .,..come..."
"Oh ! Is that so? Ok I'll come. What do you want for your birthday?"
"Uncle if you come to our place it would be the best gift."
"Ok Then I will definitely come."
"Yay!Yay!!YAy"
"Thank you uncle."
He kissed him and ran away.
Yash was so happy to see him so happy.
Tuesday at Aarthi's place
"Happy birthday my prince! Get up now Ansh!It's your birthday."
Ansh opened his eyes.
Aarthi kissed him.
"Good morning and wish you a very happy birthday beta!"
"Thank you ma. Thank you.."
"Ansh beta..Here's some gift from your grandma. Wish you a very happy birthday beta."
"Oh grand ma thank you. See ma.. grandma gave me a bat and a ball. Today when Yash uncle comes home I'll play cricket with him."
"Ok beta. Now go and get ready to go to school."
Ansh ran to the bathroom.
"Aarthi he's so excited about his Yash uncle's arrival."
"Yes ma, now today we can get to know him. I hope he's a good person."
"Beta will think for the best."
"Yes ma"
By the evening Aarthi and shobha prepared Asnhs favourite food and Ansh got ready with his best to welcome Yash.
The bell rang.
"Ma it's Yash uncle."Saying this Ansh ran to open the door.
Aarthi and shobha looked at each other's faces and went after him.
"Oh Yash uncle!! "
"Happy Birthday beta! Here's some gifts for you."
Just then Aarthi and shobha came there.
"Welcome Yash beta. Ansh told us many things about you."
"He's a loving boy."" Said Yash.
"Uncle this is my ma.. Ma this is Yash uncle"
"Aarthi and Yash were stunned to see each other.
"Aarthi!!!"
"Yash!!!"
"Aarthi do you know him?"
"Yes ma.."
"Ok come in and talk."
Yash came inside and sat.
"Yash I never thought it was you who Ansh is talking all the while."
"And I never guessed you are his mother."
"How do you know each other Aarthi beta. Tell me will you?"
"Ma in College both our batches had batch party together. We have given some numbers. As we both got the same number we had to dance together and we won best dancing couple title. He's Mr. Yash Scindia. That day I first saw him and it was last also until now."
"Yes, it was our final batch party and we all went on our own ways after that. I never thought I will ever meet you again."
"Me neither!"
"Aarthi, Ansh told me about his papa. I'm sorry about it."
"Ansh go and bring your birthday cake with grand ma"
"Ok ma."
They both went away. Shobha understood why Aarthi wanted Ansh away. She didn't want to tell her bitter past in front of Ansh.
"Sorry Yash. I don't want to say about Prashanth in front of Ansh coz I know how he misses him. Yes, Yash .. he passed away."
"What happened to him?"
"Met with an accident"
"It must be hard for you to take it. But I salute the way you have brought up Ansh. He's a well mannered boy. I really love him. He stole my heart very first day."
"Thank you.. What are you doing in his school Yash? Ansh said that you are building up a library."
"Yes, I'm working under a social worker. He sent me here to build up a library for Ansh's school."
"Ma... I brought the cake.."
"Oh come here and we'll keep it here..ok here's the knife ..ok now Ansh cut the cake."
They all sang happy birthday ..
Ansh was so happy..
