She reached near the table and sat down to write again. "Today he looked so handsome and out of the world. You know, he still has a lot of girls wandering around him for his one look. But he seems to not care for anyone like always. And you know, that chipku Sameera was also there, still trying for a chance. But you know, Maan Singh Khurana never cares.. except.." She blushed as she left the sentence in the middle. He never really cared for any of the clingy ladies around him, but he always different with her. So naughty and mischievous, maybe she is the only person who got to see that side of his. Even Annie will never believe if she told her. She felt a lump in her throat, he hasn't still moved on. She really wanted him to as she knew they were not a match. She never wanted anyone to feel that she took advantage of her friendship with Annie; that is the reason why she stopped him even though her heart only wished to be with him. But how can she expect him to move on when even she couldn't do it. How she has been denying all the proposals that Yash bhaiyya used to bring on the pretense of needing more time to study and settle down. She knew some or the other day she has to marry, but how could she when her heart only belongs to him. Everything has been the same; she still had contact with everyone in Khurana family except him from the past five years even though both Yash and she had moved to Mumbai after their parents' accidental death. The Khurana family had always been close to her. Her thoughts drifted back to past again.

After Annie's birthday I used to take me often to her house. Dadima and Shraddha mom made me feel home whenever I was there. I got friendly with Dev and Vicky also. Jai Khurana, Annie's father was also a nice person. I used to feel amused when I see him openly flirting with Shraddha mom before Dev, Annie and Vicky and how they will tease them. Dev and Vicky were also charmers and Jai Uncle used to tell me that they have inherited the skills from him. The only person I got to see less was Maan, he will always be busy with business trips or meetings. It seemed like he was a workaholic and a perfectionist. Even though my heart longed to have a glimpse of him, I chided myself knowing that it is forbidden. One Saturday, I and Annie decided to have combined study as our exams were approaching. Annie sent Ramukaka to pick me and as usual I expected everyone except Maan there. When I entered Khurana Mansion, I felt something different and when I looked ahead I saw Maan sitting with Jai Uncle discussing something, may be business. Jai Uncle looked up and saw me. He asked, "Geet beti, aao waha kyun khadi ho.. Tumhari friend abhi tak so rahi he. Jakke tum hi utao usse." Maan looked at me and smiled instantly, I felt as if he was delighted to see me but shrugged off thinking why should he be delighted?

Shraddha mom called me before my thoughts could process further. I smiled and went to her still feeling his eyes on me. Vicky came down yawning and I laughed seeing him cribbing for waking him up. I went towards Annie's room wishing him and Dev who just came out of his room. Dev was planning a day out with his friends and Vicky as usual lazy to spend his day outside. I met Dadima on the way to Annie's room. She told me after giving me a warm hug, "Geet, aaj mein Shraddha aur Jai ke saath bahar jaa rahi hoon. Tum dono devils ko zyaada problem create karne ka mauka mat dena. Waise bhi Maan rahenge, phir bhi dono humesha Maan se chupke shaithani karthe hain. Tum tho un dono ko achi tarah se samajthi hona. Tum hi sambhalo undono ko." Geet smiled and told, "Dadima, don't worry. Mein hoon na.. Mein sab kuch sambhaloongi." Dadima smiled patting my cheeks and went down. Now it is the most difficult task to wake Annie.. I smiled remembering how I woke her up after her birthday. I thought of how it could be to see her face. But to my disappointment, she was sitting in the bed rubbing her eyes. I went and sat next to her in the bed with a thud and told, "Annie, ah tum kaise itni jaldi itgayi? Mein tumhe utane ki tarike doond rahi thi." Annie glared at me and I knew I am in trouble. I rushed out of her room before she could hit me. Annie followed me with a pillow in her hand. I could hear Shraddha mom and others laughing seeing us as it is a regular routine for them to watch us like this when I am in Khurana Mansion.

I ran dodging Annie and went to some room without even noticing where I entered. I could hear Annie telling that she will catch me soon and she left. I smiled and turned to dash into a hard frame. I thought the next moment I will be on ground. But two strong hands held me by waist from falling. I looked up feeling the familiar aroma and saw Maan looking at me mischievously. Then only I realized that I am in his room. My jaw fell open making my thoughts clear to him. He told huskily, "Geet, why did you choose to barge in my room despite having so many in KM?" That made me out of my reverie and told pulling away from his hold, "Mujhe kaise patha ki yeh aap ka room he? Mein tho sirf.." Before I could proceed I felt his finger on my lips preventing me from speaking further. I feel a tremor ran through out my body at his touch. He told, "Sssh Geet, Mein mazak kar raha tha." He removed his finger and his hand tucked the hair that was in my cheek. I could feel the rush of blood in my cheeks when he touched me. He told, "Sab tumhara intezaar kar raha hoga. Neeche chalthe hain." I immediately looked down feeling so conscious at his gaze and told, "Mein chalthi hoon.." Before I could leave he held my hand and slowly came behind me. He told coming next to my ears, "Good to see you again Geet. Hope we will meet often." I looked at him stunned, but before my thoughts could process he gave a killer smile and moved towards the door. I silently followed him and rushed down before him as soon as I was out. I could feel his gaze behind me.

Annie came back dressed after a while. After pacifying her fake anger, I had breakfast with them. And soon Jai uncle and Shraddha mom left with dadima. Dev also left soon. All the while I could feel his eyes on me. I was getting conscious and was trying hard to not show it on my face. Vicky who was sitting next to me and told in a hushed voice, "We will find some way to send Maan bro outside. Otherwise our day is totally waste." Annie giggled hearing him but Maan who was sitting opposite to us couldn't make out what he was telling. He raised his eyebrows and told, "Vicky, agar tum kuch plans bana rahe ho tho leave it now itself. I think there are more interesting things for you today, have you forgotten about the match between India and Pakistan?" Vicky was on his feet hearing it and told, "Oh my God.. How could I forget it? Thanks bro.. See you after the match ladies." Next moment he was before television. Annie shook her head knowing how crazy he is about cricket and told, "Ab tho hum aaram se pad sakthi ho Geet. But bore tho zaroor hoga. Humara full time entertainer tho yaha he." I smiled and looked up to see Maan looking at me with a smile or should I say smirk??

She was brought back from the thoughts with the ringing of her phone. She saw the caller and picked it smiling, think of the devil and here she was. She told, "Ha Annie, bolo.." She could hear Arjun telling her that it will be late in India now. Annie told, "Geet, tum bhi bilkul Maan bhai jaise hogayi hoon. Ha bolo.." She smiled thinking of him and told, "Happy Birthday Annie.." Annie told, "Geetu, tum kitni baar wish karegi mujhe.. Tum hi mujhe pehle wish kit hi, aur mujhe patha he humesha aise hi hogi.." The distance never changed anything in their friendship; Annie was in Canada with Arjun. She told, "Annie, I miss you.." She could hear her, "Miss you too Geet.. But don't worry I have a good news for you. We are coming back to Delhi. Arjun has decided to start his branch in Delhi. Maan bhai had suggested it. So we are going to be there, slowly winding up everything here." Geet told feeling elated, "Really Annie.. Oh I can't wait to see you. Even I have a good news for you. We are moving back to Delhi. Yash bhaiyya is doing a merger with a construction company in Delhi. So we are shifting there permanently back to our house." Annie squealed in happiness, "Oh my God, I can't believe this." Geet could hear Arjun asking her not to jump. She was pregnant. Geet immediately told, "Annie sambhalke. Gudiya soch rahi hongi, mamma yeh kya kar rahi he?" Annie told, "Geet tum bhi na. Kaise yeh Arjun ki side le rahi he. Yeh tho mujhe kuch nahi karne detha he." Geet smiled knowing how much both of them loved each other and told, "Ab Arjun ko chedo mat."

They talked for a while when Annie asked like remembering something, "Geet, Yash bhaiyya ka company name kya he?" Geet told, "GH Designers, kyun Annie kya baat he?" Annie told her, "Wait a minute Geet.." She could hear Annie asking something to Arjun but couldn't get it clear. Annie asked after a while, "Geet, tumhe patha he kis company ke saath merger ho raha he?" She told, "Annie, tumhe patha hena mein un sab baton mein interest nahi lethi he. Woh sab Yash bhaiyya ka kaam he. I am only the head of the creative design department. We wanted to come back to Delhi as it was our parents' wish and this company was ready for a merger." Annie sighed and told, "Geet buddu Handa, your company is in merger with KC.. Khurana Constructions." Geet felt her heart beat stopped for a moment. That little piece of information was enough to knock breathe out of her lungs. That means she has to work with Maan Singh Khurana.
