SPN 9x15 THINMAN...written update
In Springdale, Washington, a girl,
Casey Miles, is taking selfies of
herself when she hears someone
moving in the hallway. She goes out
to check but finds nothing, and
confirms that her mother is still
gone. Casey goes back in her room
and checks her photos, and sees a
photo of a burned figure behind her.
She turns and sees the figure is still
there, and then runs to the closet and
calls 911. Before the operator can
get any information, the figure
appears behind her and kills her with
a knife.
At the Men of Letters bunker, Dean
tells Sam that he's going out to
check out a case in Washington.
Sam offers to go with him and Dean
admits that he doesn't know what he
wants or if he wants to go. After a
moment, Dean agrees and shows him
a photo leaked from the crime scene.
The doors and windows were locked
and they figure a ghost is
responsible.
Sam packs up and the brothers go to
Casey's house in Springdale. Her
mother, Betty, shows them the room.
Sam asks if there has been any
strange phenomena and Betty knows
all about cold spots. When Dean
wonders how she knows about them,
Betty explains that the
supernaturalists called her and
offered their services. They'll be
there later today and Dean asks who
they are.
The Winchesters track down the
Ghostfacers, Ed Zeddemore and Harry
Spengler, at a local diner. The
brothers sit down with them and the
Ghostfacers are less than thrilled to
see them. Dean asks the waiter,
Www, for the check, and the owner
Trey calls Www away. Meanwhile, Ed
and Harry flash their guns and insist
that they're handling the situation.
Dean and Sam don't believe it and
asks where the rest of their team is.
The Ghostfacers assure the
Winchesters that their former
teammates are still alive, and then
say that they're not dealing with a
ghost. However, they refuse to
provide more details.
Back at their motel, Sam checks the
Internet and discovers that Ed and
Harry wrote a book about a Thinman.
The book has a picture of the urban
legend of the Thinman, who lurks in
the background of his victims' lives
until he's ready to kill them. Dean
doesn't believe it but Sam points out
that there have been thousands of
reported sightings. Despite that,
Dean insists that it's a ghost and
starts checking the Internet for
potential victims.
Ed and Harry go back to Casey's
room and Harry checks the Facebook
status on his girlfriend. He finally
focuses and they set up a camera on
the closet where Casey was killed. Ed
begins to have second thoughts but
Harry says that they'll prove they
were right to everyone, including their
former teammates that left the
Ghostfacers for a normal life. The
two men begin filming a presentation
and Betty comes in with iced tea.
Dean doesn't turn up any likely
suspects to become a vengeful killer.
Sam has found several incidents
where Thinman turned up after
someone died. However, most of the
photos appear fake, but Sam is sure
the photo Casey took is real.
However, someone posted the photo
on a Thinman photo and blocked
their IP address.
Still posing as FBI agents, Sam and
Dean meet with the local deputy,
Norwood, because the sheriff is out
on a hunting trip. They get the phone
and discover that it was broken at
11:59... but Casey died at midnight.
Norwood suggests that something
supernatural is involved and admits
that Harry and Ed came by earlier and
gave them a copy of their book.
That night at the diner, Trey is
closing up alone when there's a
knock at the door. He checks but
sees no one. Trey goes back to work
and hears the knocking again. He
checks the security cameras and
catches a glimpse of a figure
outside... and then Thinman appears
behind him. Trey turns just as the
figure cuts his throat.
The next morning, Sam and Dean
hear about the death and go to the
diner. Ed and Harry are already there,
and the deputy says they can use all
the help they can get. While Sam
checks the footage with Norwood,
Dean confronts the Ghostfacers and
they insist that they're there for the
bloggers. He reminds them that they
created a tulpa once before, but Ed
points out that the lore keeps
changing. Dean demands to know
what they think it is, and realizes that
they don't have a clue. Norwood calls
them over and they watch the video
of Thinman killing Trey. The doors
were locked and Dean admits that it
might not be a ghost. Harry and Ed
quickly leave while Dean and Sam
watch the video again.
That night, Ed and Harry are driving
in their van and discover that
someone has posted the footage
from the diner on their blog. Ed
figures that Thinman is hiding in the
forest by a tree and they can track it
down. However, Harry wonders if
they're in over their heads. Ed wants
to continue so that they can justify
their jobs.

try to work out what they're dealing
with. Sam confirms the video is
already online and figures that

himself in the woods behind a
grocery store, searching for Thinman.
Ed admits that that his former
partners Spruce and Maggie might
have had good reason to leave.
However, he wouldn't let Harry leave
with his girlfriend so he made up
Thinman.
Harry goes further into the woods,
unaware that Thinman is watching
him.
Ed explains that he faked one case
and then the Thinman went viral. He
doesn't want to give it up because
he'll lose Harry. Sam warns him from
personal experience that secrets ruin
relationships, and Dean tells him to
tell Harry now. Ed admits that Harry
is out in the woods looking for
Thinman alone but Dean and Sam
take off.
Harry finds a pile of sticks and hears
someone moving in the brush. When
he turns around, the sticks are
scattered. Thinman appears behind
him and stabs him across the chest.
Harry hits him and runs off, clutching
at his wounded side, and staggers
into the road just as Dean, Ed, and
Sam arrive.
Once they bandage Harry's minor
wound up, he boasts to Ed that
they're onto the real thing. Sam and
Dean have found tire tracks and
figure that the killer drove away.
They go back to the motel and Ed
tells Harry the truth. Harry is furious
that Ed lied to him and ruined his life,
and he figures he's already lost his
girl. Ed suggests that they keep it
going for the fans, but Harry says
that he'll know and that Ed made him
a chump. He refuses to go back to
Ghostfacers because he can't trust
Ed anymore. Ed asks him what he
needs but Harry has nothing to say
to him.
Ed steps outside and Sam asks how
it went. Sam then goes into the room
and Harry tells him that Ed was just
pretending, but he can't pretend.
Considering, Sam says that there are
some things that can't be forgiven
and Harry has to figure out if Ed's lie
is one of them. Dean comes in and
says that he's got a lead on the tire
tracks, and Sam leaves with him. Out
in the hallway, Dean says that the
tracks belong to an '89 Geo Metro,
and only one person in town owns it.
The man is Roger, who works night
security at a local steel mill. As they
leave to check it out, Ed secretly
listens in. He then goes to the room
and admits that it's his mess. Harry
tells him that he's just made it worse,
and Ed reminds him that they set out
to help people. He wants to make it
right for both of them, and Harry
agrees to make it right together.
Sam and Dean arrive at the steel mill
and find Norwood waiting for them.
When Dean says that he'll take care
of it, Norwood says that he'll be in
trouble if it goes bad and Dean tells
him to hang back. Sam discovers
that the door is unlocked and they go
inside... and Norwood tasers them
from behind.
When Sam and Dean wake up, they
discover that Norwood has
handcuffed them. When they wonder
how he teleported at the diner,
Norwood says that it's a team effort.
"Thinman" comes out and removes
his mask, and reveals that he's
Roger, the bus boy from the diner. He
killed Trey for revenge and Casey
because she wouldn't go out with
him. The sheriff's body is lying
nearby and Norwood admits that he
killed him because he wouldn't give
Norwood time off. Norwood explains
that Roger is the psycho and he is
the visionary, and everyone
underestimates him. They met in a
bar and discovered that they were
both conspiracy theorists, and hit it
off. Dean points out that they're
copycat killers, but Roger insists that
he's Thinman and the Winchesters
won't live to tell anyone differently.
Roger puts on the Thinman mask and
prepares to kill Dean while Norwood
films him. They hear someone come
in and Norwood gags Dean and Sam
and goes to investigate with Roger.
Ed and Harry enter the steel mill and
split up. Roger hits Harry in the
groin, but Ed draws a gun on him.
Norwood knocks Ed out from behind.
The two killers take them back to
where they have Sam and Dean,
ready to kill them. The Winchesters
have escaped and attack them. Sam
knocks Norwood out while Dean and
Roger struggle for the knife. Dean
plunges the knife into Roger's chest,
and Norwood prepares to shoot Sam.
Ed jumps in the way, saying that it's
all his fault... and Harry shoots
Norwood dead.
Later, Sam and Dean are packing up
and Dean assures his brother that he
set it up to look like Norwood and
Roger killed each other. Sam points
out that they were just people, not
monsters. Meanwhile, Ed asks Harry
if they're cool, and Harry says that
they never will be. Harry is upset that
he had to kill someone and tells Ed
that he did it for him. Sam and Dean
listen in as Harry tells Ed that there
are a lot of things he can forgive, but
this isn't one of them. Harry turns
and walks away, and asks Sam and
Dean for a ride. Ed stands at the
Ghostfacers van, alone.
As they drive off, Dean asks Harry if
he's okay. Harry admits that he
thought Ed would always be with him,
but now he knows different. He
wonders if they know what he means,
and Sam and Dean glance at each
other.
