In this story, Veera is 28 and Baldev is 33.
Part 1
7 years earlier...
Baldev: "Toh tu kal Dilli ja rahi hai apni masters ki padhai ke liye? Tenu kissi ki yaad nahin aayegi."
Veera smiled. So much had happened ever since Gunjan had told her the truth about who her actual mother is, but Baldev was there for her, when she needed him the most. That's when Veera had realized how wrong she was about Baldev. He was truly a good guy. And they had got really close since then, but neither of them had said anything about their growing feelings for each other.
Veera: "Haan, jaa rahi hoon. Ab jab maine veerji ki kasam khaiyi hai ki main aage ki padhai karungi, ab toh mainu jaana hoga."
On the inside, Baldev was upset hearing this. An expression of sadness even showed on his face, something Veera noticed. But when Baldev saw her looking at him, he quickly recovered.
Baldev: "Haan, waise bhi accha hai ki tu ja rahi hai. Pind di museebat iss pind se door."
Baldev laughed, happy to be teasing Veera.
Veera got mad at Baldev and stepped on his foot. Baldev screamed out in pain.
Veera smiled, satisfied at having got back at Baldev for what he said.
Veera's expressions then became serious.
Veera: "Tu mainu miss nahin karega? Mera matlab tu mainu yaad nahin karega?"
Baldev became all serious when Veera asked him this question.
Baldev (thinking to himself): "Veera, main tenu kaise bataon ki main tere bina nahin reh sakta. Mainu tujhse pyaar j oho gaya hai. Lekin tu kahan samjhegi? Tu kahan mujhse pyaar karti hai? Aur phir main tere sapnon ke beech nahin aa sakta."
Baldev (in a joking way): Main tujhe yaad kyun karunga? Hum toh sirf dost hai!"
Veera felt irritated at Baldev's response but she didn't say anything.
Veera: "Haan, sirf dost. Main ja rahin hoon. Aur kal tu mainu airport chodne nahin aayega!"
And then Veera was about to leave, all upset. Baldev was shocked. He didn't mean to hurt Veera's feelings.
Baldev (thinking to himself): "Oi..yeh maine kya kar diya? Veera ko naraaz kar diya?"
Veera was walking away, but on the inside, she had various thoughts going through her mind.
Veera (thinking to herself): "Please Baldev, mainu rok de!Bas ek baar agar tu ne keh diya, toh main ruk jaongi."
Baldev really wanted to stop Veera, to tell her how he actually felt but he didn't. He stayed quiet. And that would be the biggest mistake Baldev ever made, which he has always regretted since then.
Present day...
It had been seven years since Veera was back in Pritampura. She had completed her masters in teaching in Delhi, and even worked there and was now 28. But, she had become really homesick and couldn't stay away from her veerji, beeji, chaiji, and...
Veera: "Baldev! Kitne saal ho gaye? Aur tu ne mainu ek baar bhi nahin phone kiya?"
Without realizing, tears began to well up in Veera's eyes. But Veera quickly wiped them away.
She didn't ask veerji or anyone else about Baldev, and nor did they tell her anything, because they knew she would get upset.
Ranvi entered Veera's room, and smiled, seeing her get ready for her first day working as a school teacher at Pritampura's school.
Ranvi: "Veerakhri, tu tayaar ho gayi?"
Veera smiled and turned to face Ranvi.
Veera: "Haan veerji! Mainu bahut accha lag raha hai, aaj mera school main kaam ka pehla din hoga. Ab main yahan pind mein school teacher ka kaam karungi, aur pind ke bacchon ko padhaungi."
Back at Baldev's house...
Bansuri: "Baldev, tujhe pata hai, Veera pind vapas lauti hai! Ab voh yahan pind main bacchon ko padhaigi aur likhaigi."
Baldev smiled hearing Veera's name. He had already heard from many people in the pind about Veera being back in Pritampura, this time for good.
Baldev: "Haan, toh main ki karaan beeji? Use nikal jaane ko nahin keh sakta. Yeh pind uska hi toh hai!"
Suddenly, a sweet, cute little 6 year old girl came running into Baldev's room and hugged him. Baldev smiled and hugged her back.
Baldev: "Kavya, tu school nahin gayi?"
Kavya: "Nahin papa, aaj mainu aapke saath rehna hai. Aaj hum bahut baat karenge!"
Baldev smiled and kissed his daughter on the forehead.
Baldev: "Meri pyaari gudiya, theek hai! Aaj hum dono bahut masti karenge."
Kavya: "Yay! Aaj school se chutti!"
Kavya ran off from Baldev's room, all happy and excited.
Bansuri: "Baldev, tu shaadi kyun nahin karta puttar? Kavya toh teri beti..."
Baldev: "Bas beeji! Kavya meri beti hai. Main kisise shaadi nahin karunga."
Bansuri got mad at Baldev, and she left from his room in anger.
