dear sweethy very nice chap indeed. could feel the tension of karthik and raji 's support to karthik super👏.why don't bring in a character who can recognise karthik in kovilpatti by means of earlier meeting in that orphanage. what I mean to say is an woman who belongs to kovilpatti working in that chennais orphanage... and then knows karthik from his collage days... then comes to meet meesai as a known person to rajis family... then telling messai that karthik is a nice person and so on... may be not immediately but later in ur chapters so as to create a good opinion in messais mind about karthik. sweety this is only a suggestion . if u like it u can take it.

Chapter 74

Raji, Karthik, Vishnu and Lakshmi enter into the house and ...
Raji: Karthik... idhaan ennoda favourite place... enga veettu mutram...

All the three look around the house. It was built long ago and reflected
traditional architecture..
Raji takes them inside. A fifty year old lady comes from inside and smiles at them. It's her periamma...
Periamma : enna Raji maa... ippo thaan variyaa?
Raji: aamaa periamma... eppadi irukkeenga? amma, aachi ellaam enga?
Periamma: ellaam adukkalai la irukkaanga... idhu enna pudhusaa??
poyi kai kaal kazhuvittu vandhavangalukku thanni kudu... ellaarum
vaanga...
Raji takes them to one corner of the mutram. There was a big vessel
filled with water. She takes water from it, washes her hands, legs and
face and asks them also to do so. She goes inside and gets towels
and gives them to wipe off wetness. She again goes inside and gets
them water to drink.
Raji: ellaam kitchen la irukkaanga... vaanga...
She goes towards the kitchen and all the three follow her. Her amma,
periamma and grand mother were busy cooking...
Raji: ammaa...
amma: vandhuttiyaa... unnoda friends aah?
Raji: aamaa... maaa...idhu Lakshmi, Karthik, Vishnu ... idhu ennoda
amma, periamma avanga aachi...
She introduces both sides and everyone exchange a cordial "vanakkam"...
Amma: ellaam vaanga... oru pathu nimisham irundheenga nnaa..
saappiduveenga...
Raji: appa enga maa?
amma: appa vum periappa vum hospital poyirukkaanga... vandhiduvaanga... nee un friends ku thanga vasadhi panni kudu...
Raji: sari maa... vaanga polaam...

Raji takes them upstairs and opens a room.
Raji: Karthik, Vishnu... neenga rendu perum inga thangikkonga... Lakshmi nee ennoda room la thangikko...
Lakshmi: sari... adhu enga irukku?
Raji: pakkathula thaan... vaanga...
She opens the next room and all of them get inside.
The room was kept neat and tidy. Everyone takes a look around ...
There was a cot on one side and a cane sofa on the other side...
Some beautiful paintings were framed and hanged on all sides of the
walls.
Raji: saaptadhum konja neram paduthu rest edunga... evening veliya
polaam...
Lakshmi sits on her bed and says "nallaa irukku dee unnoda room..."
Raji smiles. Vishnu sits on the sofa and..
Vishnu: Raji... seekkirama saappadu potteenga nnaa saaptu thoonguven... semma tired aah irukku...
Raji: irunga naan parthuttu varen...
Karthik: Raji... oru nimisham vaa...
Raji: enna Karthik?
Karthik: intha painting laam yaaru varainjadhu? neeyaa?
Raji: adhellaam... varainjadhu illai... vaanginadhu...naan ippove varen..
Raji goes downstairs and Karthik keeps looking at the paintings in dismay.

Raji comes in five minutes and says..."vaanga keezha polaam... saappaadu ready..."
Vishnu: enna Raji special?
Raji: naanum ungaloda thaane vanthen... theriyalai... aanaa enga
ammavum , periamma vum nallaa samaippaanga... vaanga...
All of them come downstairs and Raji's periappa and appa enter.
Raji's appa looks at everyone and before he could say something, Raji goes to him and says" appaa... doctor enna sonnaanga?"
Appa: marubadiyum pathu naal kazhichu vara solli irukkaanga Raji maa... nee eppa daa vandhe?
Raji: ippo thaan paa... oru ara mani neram aayirukkum...
Raji's appa turns towards her friends and...
Appa: vaanga thambi... enna maa Lakshmi... eppadi irukke?
Lakshmi: nallaa irukken paa...
Appa: saapteengalaa maa?
Lakshmi: innum illa paa... ippo thaan vandhom...
Appa: mani rendu aagapodhu... modhalla saappidunga... porumaiyaa
pesikkalaam... vaanga thambi... neengalum...
Raji's periappa : enna Raji maa... unnoda friends aah?
Raji: aamaa periappa... idhu.. Lakshmi, Karthik, Vishnu... ellaam onnaa
vela panrom...
periappa: nalladhu... vaanga sappiadalaam...
Raji's appa goes inside and the rest go to dining room.

Raji's periappa: thambi... keezha ukkaandhu saappida kashtamaa
irukkum naa sollunga... mejai mela parimaara solren...
First time Karthik opens his mouth...
Karthik: paravaa illainga... oru prachanaiyum illai... keezha ukkaanthu
saappidalaam...
Raji's appa joins ...
Raji's periappa, appa, thatha, Karthik, Vishnu and Lakshmi sit in a row
and lakshmi says..."neeyum vaa ... Rajii..."
Raji moves but her periamma stops her...
Periamma: irukkattum maa... ava appuram sappiduvaa...Rajii...unnoda
friends ku enna venum nu kitta irundhu parimaaru... naama appuram
saappidalaam...
Raji: saringa periamma..
Raji serves and everyone has lunch.

Finishing lunch, Karthik, Vishnu and Lakshmi come to Raji's room.
Lakshmi: Office join pannumbodhu Raji en appadi irundhaa nnu ippo
thaan puriyudhu...
Vishnu: aamaa Lakshmi... ivvalo peru mirattinaa... enna seyya mudiyum...
Karthik: avanga appa mattum thaan Raji kitta friendly yaa pesuvaaru
pola...
Lakshmi: mmm... Karthik konjam kashtam thaan...
Karthik: ennadhu Lakshmi?
Lakshmi: Raji appa othukittaa pathaadhu... othukka vendiyavanga list perusaa irukku...
Karthik: huh... let's hope for the best...

Raji comes there with a jug of water and keeps it on the table.
Karthik: saaptiyaa Raji?
Raji: innum illai... Karthik...
Karthik: saappidaama enna pannittu irukke?
Raji: oorule irundhu athai, mama vandhirukkaanga... periamma, aachi, athai, mama saaptukittu irukkaanga... avanga mudichadhum naanum, ammavum sappidanum...
Vishnu: bayangara strict aah irukkaanga nga unga veetla...
Raji: neenga ippo thaan parkureenga... adhanaala appadi thonum...
Lakshmi: aanaalum kashtam Raji...
Raji smiles...
Raji: Karthik... Ashvin oda appa, amma evening varaangalaam..
Karthik: avanga varadhukku munnaadi naama appa kitta pesidanum
Raji...
Lakshmi: aamaa Karthik... Raji oda appa namma side irundhaa dhaan
unga kalyaanam easy yaa nadakkum...
Vishnu: adhu thaane TOUGHEST TASK... Raji appa othukkiradhu...
Raji: kandippaa othukkuvaaru nnu enakku nambikkai irukku... naan appa kitta pesittu varen Karthik...
Karthik: OK...
Raji goes from there and tension prevails on everyone's face.

Raji comes to her appa's room and he was standing near the window
looking outside..
Raji: appaa..
Appa: vaa Raji maa... saaptiyaa daa?
Raji: innum illa paa... amma kooda saappiduren...
Appa: Raji maa... annan sonnaaru... annaikku unnai parka vandhaangale avanga saayanthiram varaangalaam ... nee un friends
oda antha thambiya koottittu varaliyaa daa?
Raji: avarum vandhirukkaaru paa...
Appa: vandhirukkaaraa?
He recollects Karthik and Vishnu's presence and looks at her with
disbelief...
Appa: Raji maa...
Raji: avar romba nallavaru paa... enakku romba pidichirukku..
Appa: enna daa solre?
Raji: avarai thavira naan vera yaaraiyum Kalyaanam pannikka maatten...
Appa: enakku pidikkale nnaaa?
Raji: naan unga ponnaave irundhidaren... paa ...
Appa: sari... nee poyi antha thambi ya koottittu vaa... naan modhalla
pesanum...
Raji: sari paa...
Raji moves and her appa calls her..."oru nimisham... Raji maa... "
Raji: ennappaa?
Appa: enakku ... idhu sari yaa varum nu thonuchi nnaa thaan naan
othukkuven.. illennaa sariyaa varaadhu mudiyaadhu nnu solliduven...
Raji: sari paa... naan ennoda mudivaiyum sollitten...
Appa: sari...
Raji comes to her room.

Lakshmi, Vishnu and Karthik are discussing something and Raji enters.
Raji comes to Karthik and says "naan appa kitta innoru thadavai thelivaa sollitten Karthik... unnai thavira vera yaaraiyum kalyaanam
pannikka maatten nu... appa un kitta pesanum nu sonnaaru..."
Karthik looks really tensed and the rest could feel it. Vishnu comes to
him and hugs him.
Vishnu: machaan... dhairyamaa po daa... enna pesida poraaru... unga
ponnai neenga parthukkaradha vida naan nallaa parthuppen appadinnu sollidu ... simple...
Karthik smiles and says..." thanks machaan..."
Raji holds Karthik's hand and says..."I LOVE YOU .. Karthik"
Karthik smiles and says.."I LOVE YOU ... too"
Vishnu and Lakshmi clap and cheer them.."yeay... All the best..."
Lakshmi: porumaiyaa pesu Karthik... mathadhellaam thaanaa nadakkum...
Karthik: Thanks Lakshmi...
Raji and Karthik come out of her room and proceed towards her appa's room.
Raji: appa unakku kovam vara maathiri edhaavadhu kettaarunnaalum ..nee porumaiyaa iru Karthik... kova padaadhe... please...
Karthik stops walking ... and ...
Raji: ennachu?
Karthik: appa vukku udambu sari illai ngradhu enakku nyaabagam
irukku Raji... naan maximum controlled aah thaan irukken...
Raji: sari vaa.. polaam..
She holds his hand and moves further...

RAJI APPA'S ROOM:

Raji's appa is looking at a picture of Raji hanging on the wall and Raji
and Karthik come inside.
Raji: appaa...
He turns towards them. He gives a stern look at them.
Raji: appaa... ivar thaan Karthik...
Appa: Raji maa... nee poyi saaptu vaa daa... naan intha thambi kitta thaniyaa pesanum...
Raji: appaa...
Appa: appa mela nambikkai illaiyaa daa?
Raji: appadi illai paa...
Appa: bayappadaadhe Raji maa...naan intha naadagathula, padathula
vara maathiri ... en ponnai vittudu.. evvalavu kaasu venum naalum
tharen ... appadinnu miratta maatten...
Raji: appaa...
Appa: idhu unnoda vaazhkai daa... ennaala eduthen kavuthen nu
mudivu panna mudiyaadhu... naan pesanum... nee poyi saaptu vaa...
Karthik: po Raji... mani 3 aagapodhu... amma wait pannuvaanga ille?
saaptu vaa...
Raji holds his hand tightly and looks into his eyes which in turn assure her that he'll take care of everything. Raji comes out of the room, moves a few steps but couldn't afford to go and comes back and stands behind the door.

R-Appa: appo... en ponnu kalyaanam pannikkanum nu aasai padarathu unngalai thaan...
Karthik nods his head...a Yes...
R-Appa: ukkaarunga thambi... (he shows a chair...)
Karthik: illa... paravaa illa...
R-appa: neenga ninnaa... naanum nikkanum... ennaala romba neram
nikka mudiyaadhu...
Karthik drags the chair towards him and sits on it.

Raji's appa sits on his cot.
Karthik is getting ready thinking what his next question would be and...
R-appa: appo neenga en kitta savaal la jeyichitteenga??
Karthik bangs his head mentally and thinks... edha pathi pesa koodaadhu nnu nenacheno... adhaiye modhal la kekkaraare..Karthik... control daa...
R-appa: enna thambi? badhile kaanom??
Karthik: appadi yellaam onnum illainga...enakku Rajiya pidichirukku...

(he expresses himself clearly...)

Karthik's frustration starts... but he controls ...

Tears roll down from Raji's eyes and she prays God..." kadavule ... en

R-appa: sari... unga vishayam enakku venaa... en ponnu ... enakku

Karthik simply stares at him... and he continues...
R-appa: ippo adhai odaichittu ungalai kattikkanum nu adam pidikkuraa... unga kitta ... ungala thavira vera yaaraiyum kalyaanam

Karthik: irundhaa?
(Karthik feels something fishy... he thinks what Raji's dad is upto?)
R-appa: onnum illa... manasu ngradhu eppo venum naalum edhu venum naalum aasai padum...
Karthik: adhukku?
R-appa: enakku panna sathiyathai meeri unga mela aasapattu
ungalukku vaakku kuduthava... naalaikku vera aasai vandhadhum
ungalukku kudutha vaakkai meera maattaa nnu enna nichayam?
Both Karthik and Raji are shocked to hear this...
Karthik: enakku ennoda Rajiya pathi theriyum...
R-appa: oru vela unnaala ava ethirpaakkara santhoshathai thara
mudiyalai nnaa... ava yosikka vaayppu irukku illaiyaa?
Karthik: venaanga... ungalukku pidikkalai nnaa athai sollidunga... naan maru pechu pesaama poyidaren... innoru vaarthai Rajiya pathi thappaa pesinaa... naan manushanaa irukka maatten...
R-appa: en ponna pathi enna pesanum nu nee sollithara poriyaa?
Karthik loses his temper...

Unable to control Raji enters into the room.
Karthik tries to be normal...looks at her and..
Karthik: saaptiyaa Raji?
Raji: mmm...
R-appa: Raji maa... inga vaa daa...
She goes near him and he makes her sit beside him. He takes her hand into his and looks at Karthik... and...
R-appa: oru ponnukku ethanai kashtam vandhaalum thaangikkura sakthi iyarkaiyaave irukkum... aanaa Kalyaanam nu aanadhukku appuram vaazhkaiyile vara entha prachanaiya samaalikkanum naalum... purushanoda aravanaippum ...aadharavum romba avasiyam... adhu therinjikka thaan appadi pesinen... mathabadi en ponnai pathi evan thappaa pesinaalum... avan uyiroda irukka maattaan...

Karthik: saringa...

Karthik gets up and comes out of the room. He waits for Raji to come
out. Raji gets up and starts to go... her appa calls her...
R-appa: Raji maa... appa vukku kudikka thanni kudu daa...
She goes to the table , fills the glass and gives him.
Hearing this, Karthik goes from there.
