Thanks for the WU:)
Rani gave realistic slap right on Mano's face. As a father, he was not wrong when he tried to fight for his daughter's love. But the moment he differentiated between himself and the sisters, he proved to be his father's son. In his conquest to become his father's son again, he failed as a brother and as a father himself. For once, Rani spoke up as Sara's mother and not as Mano's sister.
Swami and Rani ruined their son's happiness and that guilt is going to haunt them both, especially Swami. I am glad Sara realized Poo is someone else's wife now, so it's wrong to think about her and also suggested his dad moves on as well. Love is just a part of life but it isn't life. He sacrificed his love for his parents and family. That overpowers his love. In this world it is not what we take up, but what we give up that makes us rich. The little things we give up today will result in greater gains tomorrow.
Today it may seem that Swami, Rani and Sara lost to the world. But in reality, they showed that they are better than everyone else.
What I really enjoy about Vani Rani is that none of the characters are perfect, neither are they completely evil. They have their flaws, and the situation they are put into either brings out the positive or negative extremes.
When you look at these characters individually, it is really easy to understand why they do things the way they do. Even when they act ridiculous. However, when you start seeing them as one big family you notice how one person's action/behaviour can affect everyone else's.
It really makes you believe that people have both the good and the bad in them. What manipulates them is the situation. End of the day, we all are victims of circumstances.
In Vani Rani, you know right away from the start that this is one dysfunctional family when the elder sister doesn't interact with the younger one despite living in the same house for 25 years. You realize how the younger brother is being used by the older brother. These differences we notice as a third person, but those living under it don't. But once something happens (Selvi's love) all hell breaks loose.
Vani finally started talking to Rani only after Rani left the house. Bhoomi realized Swami's value only after separating from him. Would either of these two have happened otherwise?
Sometimes, you never really understand what you have until it finally leaves you. But sometimes, it's also better to keep distance so that the bond grows stronger.
