Jodha and Akbar go de-glam in Zee TV's Jodha Akbar

Known for its lavish sets and extravagant costumes, Zee TV's top-rated historical drama Jodha Akbar' always sees its lead pair - Jodha (played by Paridhi Sharma) and Akbar (played by Rajat Tokas) in royal finery. Investing time and effort in ensuring that their look is authentic, the costume designers have always worked on designs that are both well-researched and bear that unmistakable Mughal imperial stamp. Going the de-glam route this time for an upcoming sequence, Jodha and Akbar will be seen disguising themselves as commoners, something reported earlier by Tellychakkar.com.

Following the track of the show, post her survival after the poisonous encounter with Benazir, Akbar would want to take Jodha to a dargah to pray for her well-being. While Jodha fought the battle for life bravely, it was also due to Akbar's prayers that she survived. As a gesture of gratitude to the Almighty for the well-being of Jodha, Akbar would wish to build a palace for her in a town called Fatehpur Sikhri'. In order to reach the place, the two decide to dress as commoners and pass the town not as the rulers of the state, but as commoners.

Speaking of the special sequence, Paridhi said, "It was a welcome break for us to not wear our usual princely attire but to experiment with the look of a commoner. It's not half as heavy as the rich, ornate sarees and jewellery that I generally wear as the Queen. In fact, it was a look I quite enjoyed getting into. Let's hope the audience enjoy and appreciate the simplicity of this avatar."

While the two embark on a journey, Jodha and Akbar start developing a soft corner for each other. Only time will tell if the two will give in and admit to each other about their feelings!
