Chapter 33

With Monday morning came a new start for KC. Geet had entered and was welcomed by Maan, Dev, the HODs and the remaining staff. She had a look around and asked everyone to join in the meeting. Sasha had to quickly arrange for a bigger conference room as she had not anticipated there to be so many people in the meeting.

Geet thanked everyone for their time. She explained in simple terms how the deal exactly looks like. Again she didn't clearly state that she will be boss over Maan, only that she will have a say in all matters, too.

"There will be one more thing. As you might be aware of, many of your former colleagues have resigned or were fired and have joined MC. I have talked to many and they will be working with KC again. They know the work much better than a newcomer and will be able to do a much better job. Who they will be you will find out tomorrow, when they will come back. Any other questions?"

"Yes. What profit are you making out of this deal, Geet?" Sasha asked.

"Let that be my concern Miss Sasha. And to make it clear, I am working in a more senior position to you so you will hence forth address me as ma'am or Mrs Mishra, not by Geet." Sasha was fuming now. She looked at MK for help but he was in deep thought.

The next day Maan waited eagerly to see who was returning.

There were many whom he recognised vaguely. He almost jumped in joy, when Adi returned.

"Adi, you're back? So great to see you!" Maan engulfed Adi into a friendly hug.

Adi was taken aback by this action. Maan had never shown this much emotion.

"Look, I am sorry Adi. I know it is coming really late but you know me, don't you? Saying sorry doesn't come easy to me. But it is great to have you back."

"All forgiven and forgotten Maan sir."

"No Adi, call me Maan. This sir' is annoying me really. Tell me, did you come back on your free will?"

"No actually. Geet asked me to do part time here and part time in MC. She didn't want to lose me as the Executive MD but said I'll do a great job here as head accountant again."

"That's amazing." Adi nodded.

"And this way I can keep an eye on my dear wife now." Adi turned to see Pinky speaking excitedly to her colleagues.

"What do you mean?" Maan asked confused. Adi was a little shy. Maan still looked confused.

"Well, I am going to be father soon." Again Maan gave Adi a great hug. This was too good to be true. But the day held more surprises for Maan. He had never found a secretary after Geet and this was one reason his workload had increased drastically.

"May I come in sir?" she looked at her watch, like ten times in a minute. Geet had assured Muskaan that there was no chance of her getting fired as she was officially employed by Geet yet Muskaan had been very hesitant of taking up this new position.

Maan looked at Muskaan. She was the girl from the party which he had fired for coming one minute late. Out of reflex he looked at the clock, ten minutes before time.

"Your name?" he asked. He still hasn't forgotten her words.

"Muskaan Grewal, your new secretary." She was confident and Maan raised his brow.

"MY new secretary? What about Geet? Who told you to come here? Do you think you can cope with my work?" he asked her all at once.

"Yes sir, I am your new secretary. Didi, I mean Geet, has told me to take up this position as I have a lot of experience from my work at MC. For now Riya will help her out and she will decide later on when I will take up my old post. As for your work, I have managed very well with Geet's speed; I can easily deal with your work, too." Muskaan was confident. She remembered the motivation talk she had with Geet before she came here. It really helped.

"Ok. As for now I need a coffee"

"Black without sugar. Will be there in a minute." She gave him a smile and left.

"This Geet must have done some sort of magic on all these people. They were weak the last time I met them and now...?" he said aloud.

Geet had asked Yash to take up a temporary position in KC. Seema was doing an awesome job with the help of her two new interns and so Yash could help out since Geet had been given to understand by Dev that Tasha was a catastrophe.

Yash was on cloud nine. He had never told Geet that the girl he like so much was actually working in KC. Not only would he see her everyday but to his luck the first project he got, he and Meera had to work jointly on it.

Other than the personnel, Geet made some other changes, too. Just as in MC KC had to have a proper relaxation quarters.

"Relaxation quarters? They come here for work and not to relax" Maan said and Dev thought his brother had a point.

"These people work from 9-7 with only a one hour break in between. On top of it they have more work than they can deal with. Usually they could relax at home but having you as a boss means they need to fear loosing their jobs at all times which stresses them out even more and you make mistakes when you are stress. Hence, if you are relaxed, fewer mistakes, more efficiency and KC is going to be back up in no time." Dev giggled at Maan's expression. His problem had been this simple and he could never figure it out.
