Prachi Desai has given her 'Kasamh Se' co-star Sudha Shivpuri a turquoise bead bracelet to ward off evil.
Sudha Shivpuri, as the much-loved Ba in 'Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi' (Star Plus), has grown into a character of epic proportions. While she continues to play grandma at the whopping age of 120 years in the show, her 'Kasamh Se' (Zee) granddaughter-in-law Bani, played by Prachi Desai, wants to shield her from evil.
Interestingly, Prachi has gifted Sudha a good luck charm—a turquoise bead bracelet to ward off the evil eye, which Prachi herself immensely believes in.
Prachi says, "I'm not superstitious but I am not averse to wearing something that people say has worked for them. I donned the bracelet and I slowly realised that it was helping ward off negative forces." She continues, "I don't know whether it was some cosmic power at work or just destiny, but I escaped unhurt from a near-fatal accident, which could have fractured me badly a few days after I wore the bracelet. Since then, I always wear it." Apparently, Prachi while shooting a jail sequence even refused to take off the bracelet.
As for gifting them to the veteran, Prachi says, "I love Sudhaji. She's such a sweetheart. I felt that if I have had such a positive experience with the bracelet; why not gift it to her too?"
Sudha is overwhelmed by Prachi's gesture. She says, "I have never donned such charms in life. But Prachi gifted the bracelet to me. I was so touched by her thoughtfulness that I agreed to wear it. One must recognise and respect the feelings behind gifts," remarks Sudha, who says that she is lucky to be getting quality work at this age. "Today when kids are finding it tough to gain a foothold in the industry, I feel blessed to be able to play such roles in 'Kyunki' and 'Kasamh Se', which are diametrically opposite. What else could I want?" she ends
