His renderation of Jagjit singh's tumko dekha was absolutely hilarious.
Here we go...
Jagjit singh is wandering around the sand dunes in Rajasthan, when his walet and all belongings are stolen and he is left alone. Walking, he finally reaches a road side stall, ....... and the song comes to his mind..
tumko dekha tho yeh khayal aaya...
when he sees samosas.... he continues... zindagi dhup tum ghana saayaa....
and then taking the samosa in his hand, he sings...
Aaj phir dil ne ek tamanaa ki....
but when he turns to the price list.... his heart sings...
Aaj phir dil ko humne samjhaya......
That was very very beautiful.. lots of the emotions in the song goes away in posting it here in english.. but the whole presentation by him was very good.
while accepting the trophy, he revealed that when he came to bombay, he spent three years on the footpath.. a chance visit to johny lever changed his life, when he introduced him to his brother.. who took him under his wing and made him what he is today... very very heart rendering speech ...
ultimately, shekhar suman ended it beaiutifully, by acknowleding the efforts of star one in promoting an event, which talent is great.. and where making another laugh is no mean feat...
