PART 15

Geet Rano called seeing her walking the other way. Her eyes shed tears as she saw her own daughter so lost that she does not even know she is taking the wrong way towards the exit of the hospital. Beta..tum galat raste but her eyes widen as the realization of her lost state got into her mind. She smiled sadly as she saw Geet walking towards Mehar's room though she was herself lost but her heart knew where she had to be. Meera tried to stop Geet but Rano asked her not to saying jaane de ushe Meera... Her brain might be lost right now but her heart does know where she should be..apne gusse mein bahut kuch keh diya ushne but let herself settle this now.

Mom Ammy cried out seeing Geet but she did not even spare a look. Her eyes focused on the door that was closed. Maan's eyes looked up hearing the soft cry from his son and his heart ached seeing the finger marks on her cheek. He wanted to cocoon and say sorry but her venomous words did not let. Her accusations that he used her were only killing him. Mom... I want to go to Mom... Badi Dadi Ammy cried struggling to get down as Dadima held him tight. He bit her hand and ran towards Geet and hugged her tight fearing that she may run away from him.

Mom he cried hiding himself in her but her hands did not even reach to console him. She slowly pulled him away and walked towards the door as if her life depended on it. Maan was shocked seeing her doing so while Armaan just cried seeing his Mom walking away from him. Dad he ran and hugged Maan tight complaining she did not hug me Dad.. Mom is angry... You hit her.. I hate you Dad... I hate you. He cried increasing the guilt in Maan as he held his son tight unable to say anything. Dadima cried seeing her family in pain and she could not do anything. She had promised Naina that she will never let any pain touch Maan and Geet but today they were in pain and she was helpless.

Maan's eyes turned wide in horror as he heard the nurse call him. He did not waste a second and just rushed inside Mehar's room only to see the doctor and nurse who had come to check upon Mehar trying to get Geet's attention. His eyes widen as he saw some blood on the floor near the bed while one nurse was covering his view on Geet.

Geet the doctor heard the voice and turned to see Maan standing. Mr. Khuranna... just get her out.. koi pagal hain shayad.. The doctor could not even complete as he saw the furious eyes of Maan. Pagal nahi hain woh Maan yelled as he stormed towards the bed and was shocked to see Geet lying on the small bed of Mehar hugging her tight. He closed his eyes as he saw her cocooning her baby into her warmth. Pagal nahi hain woh he repeated the same as the doctor tried to come closer. The doctor did not know about Geet. He was new and did not let the nurse speak when she tried to stop him from getting Geet out of the room but now seeing Maan's furious eyes he just kept quite.

Kuch nahi hoga... meri bachi theek hain.. babaji kuch nahi hone denge he heard her murmur as she snuggled more into the bed holding her daughter closer. I will fight... main sabse se jung karungi... But won't let anyone harm you... koi dur nahi leja saktha meri bachi ko.. koi nahi. His eyes widen as he saw her pulling the spread and covering themselves with it. Jaan he called as he tried to pull the spread but Geet jerked the hand that held the sheet and covered themselves holding her baby tight but in this all Maan failed to realize that she was extremely careful about the wires and tubes that were attached to Mehar. Though she was holding her tight but she did not even hurt a bit but just held her closer.

Mr. Khuranna Maan turned and saw Dr. Mathew standing behind his back. M sorry Maan tried to apologize but Dr. Mathew just smiled nodding his head. Maan was shocked but Dr. Mathew nodded and walked towards the bed and slowly called Geet. He knew that she was suffering from memory loss and had to be precise while speaking to her. Ms. Geet he called again you know your baby is not well and if you sleep like this she may get hurt na. He slowly pulled the sheet and Maan just looked in surprise seeing her not behaving wild and then his words No one needs you here... nor my Armaan neither Mehar or me.. So out from our lives hit him telling that she hated him right now.

You know Dr. Mathew sat taking a chair while Geet peeped to see him. She is not well but she is fine now. Doctor looked at her eyes having confusion. He smiled answering her m her Doctor.. Dr. Mathew and I promise you that no one will take your daughter away from her. He was using the same words that he had used years back when he had met seen Mehar first time. She was just 3 years old and he was on a tour to India when he came across this case. Mehar was hospitalized as she was very critical and all the doctors had lost their hope the same way it was now and tat time too Geet was just reacting the same way. You trust me na he waited for her reply but she just closed her eyes. You know your daughter is a fighter.. She will beat even the death for you... I remember her telling me how much she loves her Mom. There was a faint smile on Geet's face as she heard that. But m worried and the smile turned in confusion if Mehar baby comes to know that her Mom is so scared wat will she feel... she needs you this time... just a month away and then she will be all fine playing with you... but right now if you are scared she too will be scared.. So please you let her rest na. Dr. Mathew waited for her reply and saw her softly moving a bit and next she stepped down the bed and sat at the edge just looking at Mehar caressing her. Tats like Mehar's Mom... Now let me check her and give her an injection. The word injection feared Geet and she just covered Mehar with her body not letting anyone touch her. Maan panicked seeing her like tat but the doctor just smiled saying I said na I won't hurt her... And this injection will keep her strong... You want your baby to be strong na. Geet just nodded but still did not leave Mehar's hand and as she saw the injection she grabbed Maan's hand piercing her nails into hi skin. Done she heard the doctor and instantly left Maan's hand and kissed Mehar all over her face and kept staring at her face. The doctor left leaving the three alone in the room.

Mom Armaan came running inside and pushed Maan away and jumped into Geet's lap. I love you Mom.. I love you.. And I hate Dad.. I hate him he cried as he buried his face into her chest and Geet instantly held him trying to hide him like she did with Mehar. Baby she called as she caressed his hair with her bloodied hand. Jaan Maan cried as he saw the red color covering her left hand and he instantly reached to hold her hand. How did this happen... kitna khoon beh raha hain he cried as he saw the blood. Geet for a second looked at him and then jerked her hand away and concentrated on Armaan.

Mr. Khuranna they heard a voice after few minutes and saw a nurse coming inside. Mr. Khuranna doctor has asked to give sponge bath to the patient. Geet looked at Maan nodding his head and then at the nurse who was all set with the things. She panicked as she saw the nurse coming closer and before she could touch Mehar Geet yelled stopping her. I will give her.. you stay away from my daughter. The nurse for a moment looked scared hearing her but then she nodded saying again its out duty and being a nurse I know how to handle it with care. Geet narrowed her eyes and said and I know wats good for my daughter... so you can please leave the room while I give her sponge bath. Geet slowly settled Armaan on his feet and said Ammy baby.. Mom will clean Di now ok... So you sit here and don't move... phir hum na Di se baat karenge ok. Armaan nodded and Geet turned towards the nurse who still looked at her. Don't you understand it.. maine kaha keep and leave. The nurse looked at Maan who tried to say something but stopped hearing his wife I don't need anyone to advice me on anything... and I know that no one wants me but I need my kids to stay alive. She did not even see wat her words did to Maan as she walked inside the washroom to clean her wounds that she had while the nurse was trying to take her out from the room earlier.

Mom Geet heard Armaan call her. She smiled at him as she was giving sponge bath to Mehar. Why are you doing this to Di.. it looks so yuck Mom. Geet smiled at her little baby who looked so curious and made tat face. Baby.. your di is sick na.. and she needs to be clean.. so Mom giving her sponge bath. Armaan still made tat face as if he did not like and said but Mom.. how will it clean Di... this is so little water and you know na Di likes to have a very long bath.. ab I will tell Di tat Mom cleaned her like this. Maan laughed but did not make it obvious to Geet as he was afraid. Though she was talking but it was not his Geet. Naa baby... this is good for Di now.. we can't hurt Di na.. so.. And once Di goes home na we will give her a long bath.. tat to with her favorite soap and shampoo ok.

Chalo done.. now let Di rest Geet said as she finished cleaning Mehar who still was sleeping due to the effect of medicines. But Mom.. you said na we will talk to Di... So ask her to get up.. aap janthi ho na.. mujhe di se baat karni hain.. so many days passed.. And ask that doctor uncle to send my di home... My Di does not like hospitals. Armaan almost cried thinking his Mom lied but Geet just carried her in her arms and sat on the sofa avoiding Maan as if he did not exist. Ssshhh baby.. Di is sleeping na.. So we can't talk now.. And you want di to be healthy na.. so let her sleep so that she can play with you. Armaan nodded as if he understood and hid himself in Geet's duppatta and soon slept in her lap.

Jaan Maan said as he settled next to her trying to remove Armaan from her lap but she did not even bit loosened her grip on him. Please Jaan.. you too are not well.. aise tho you will be in pain na. He said as he caressed her face trying to make her speak but her one sentence made him to cry kuch ghav bahut gehre hote hain Mr. Khuranna and she could not even speak as her tears started to pour. Dil se apna mana hain but I did not know that I don't stand anywhere near your life.. shayad isliye tho m still a stranger in your life..But it's ok.. I should have known that m not their real mother... galati tho meri thi na kuch jyada hi bol diya maine.. So m really sorry and I promise you that once she is discharged I will never show you my face. Her each word just added to the guilt. He knew tat him not telling her about Mehar had made her wild and she said all tat but his one sentence gave her death. Will go far away from you three but just let me make some enough memories so that I can live rest of my life.
