We know how big a manipulator NA is. He thinks women are inferior to men and wants them to be his puppets, but he keeps his clean image in the society. What is so special about Astha that NA chose her to be his daughter in law the first day he met? And he still is very adamant to keep her his DIL even after the amount of damage she has done to his status.
Following could be the reasons I am thinking.
1. She is a free-spirited girl.
NA does not like free-spirited girls and he wants to crush that spirit in her and make her his slave.He does not like any woman of substance.
2. She is the only daughter of her parents.
NA seems to have penchant to girls who are only daughters for their parents. We have not seen siblings of Anjali or Sojal till now in the show. This way he can black-mail them just like he does to Anjali and use them however he wants.
3. He wanted the land documents to be signed by Avdhoot.
Well this one fulfilled now and we know how manipulative he was to get this task done.
4. Shlok is emotionally attached to Astha
NA wants Shlok to become his 'waaris' as he feels Shlok is as manipulative, egoistic, male-chaunistic as he is. As Shlok seems to be emotionally attached to Shok he can use this point to mould Shlok according to his needs as well.
5. Astha is a very obedient girl.
On the first day itself he observed that Astha apologized to Shlok even if she is not at fault on the insistence of her father.
