Best Singer female 2013

shuld have been shreya for sun raha or chinmayi. did u see monali thakur "singing" at filmfare when she got her award? she is a mediocre singer and culd barely get her voice out. shreya is always on point and her singing is flawless live as well as recordings.

Shreya for Sun Raha Hai Naa Tu. She was flawless in that song!! :)

Monali Thakur - versatile singer. Someone who can pull off sensuous Zara Zara Touch Me, loud Aga Bai and melodious Sawaar Loon. She is my current fav singer. I found Shreya overrated despite the fact I liked Sun Raha Hai Na Tu. Also Monali's film is looking pretty awesome.

^Shilpa Rao and I agree. Though I don't think she's ever won any prominent award, she's got some great songs to her credit, most by Amit T- right from Ek Lau (Aamir), Dhol Yaara Dhol (DevD), Nain Parindey (Lafangey Parindey), Jazba (LVRB), Gustakh Dil (EV). And yet she's mostly known for the more mainstream ones- Khuda Jaane, Malang.

Edit- I preferred Monali in her Indian Idol days, her voice had a lot more spunk. Sawar Loon is probably the overplayed song from that album but the others are significantly better. Monali was good no doubt but you could really hear the ache and emotion in Shilpa's voice and that transcends it to another level, a clear distinction from the other nominees.
