Reliving IPK ...

I actually wanted to write this post for the next episode, but my days are getting more crazier, so I decided to do this now itself. When Lavanya's character was introduced, I hated her shallowness and mannerisms. I couldn't wait for her to leave and make way for Khushi. But I fell in love with her somewhere along the way, and I know a lot of others did too! So here is my tribute to her!

First of all let me tell you how much I appreciate both Ipoona and ArshiH for the marvelous post that freshen the memories of ipk, and make us relive the beauty and magic once again!

Episode 145

Payesh Engagement'.PART 2

One side one couple couldn't wait for to be announced as one and other side was waiting to declare their separation .Khushi brings Payal downstairs and there is no doubt ,both gorgeous girls were grabbing everyone's attention especially Akash who couldn't resist holding his girl's hand.Shyam's filthy eyes were roaming around Khushi who was ignoring him completely to enjoy her sister's engagement.

A gentle hand on La's shoulder brings her to the realization table and she turns around by wiping her tears.But my grabber is she does not want Arnav to feel guilty and at the top Arnav's care and concerns for her is very much visible to her too but why? She wants him to feel guilty to change his mind or she s being selfless which she is not.They come down together holding arms but today La's gazes and gestures losing her love are not gone unnoticed by him which he was ignoring since from the beginning .That is my point she is grabbing his extra attention today because she really is Feeling the meaning of love who loves someone else.

Naniji teases her for her "character Dheela" dance and pushes her to the dance floor

PONDERING CONNECTED DOTS:La was doing her surprise dance of character Dheela on Anjali's wedding anniversary and Naniji was fuming over it.Today Naniji is laughing about it and she is holding her ears for seeking forgiveness and Naniji is embracing her.What a change?

That day Arnav and La came down together as a couple but the situation was different.

La's frustration over the dance was very visible for Arnav.She pulls Khushi on the dance floor.When Khushi dances ,it seems the whole environment fills with joy.Everbody joins her at this auspicious moment.Arnav couldn't resist admiring his Khushi which didn't go unnoticed either by Khushi or by La.Khushi gets uneasy with his piercing soft gazes while La couldn't stop her tears which made Khushi to go after her.

Arnav's convulsion is very much visible by looking at La and he decides to disclose the truth to the family,which makes everyone worried especially Guptas.

Two parallel scenes side by side'Khushi connects the dots very clearly for La's behavior and her distress.La tells her the truth and it drops a bomb shell on Khushi and the vey same way on the family when Arnav tells them,"Mein aur Lavanya engagement nahin kar rahe"[La and I are not getting engaged]

Naniji's words shakes him a bit but he doesn't stumble as he still needs time to understand the depth and meaning of these relations'..His past has indeed the main cause of this sternness."Jaldbazi mein liya huwa koi bhi faisla sirf aapki zindagi par nahin 'purey parivar peh asar kart hai..[ hasty decision does not effect only yourlife but also effect the family]Anjali's concerns about La shows her own past bitter experience which is reflecting here in her tears.She knows how a woman feels after a breakage of any commitment .Her own experience and her mother's both are speaking with volume here.

Pondering Connecting Dots: Arnav's hasty decision of forced marriage with Khushi is going to effect both families temporarily.

Love this man's forthright and candid nature"Di aaj yeh faisla nahin karta dair tum ho jati'tub aap log manzoor karte"[Di if I don't make this decision today'then it would be late and you won't accept it] He made it clear to Akash whatever happens in his life shouldn't effect your life but he is unaware of the future as it is going to effect all of them.He breaks all the Mami's plan flopped by declaring Akash's engagement and Naniji supports him but stumbles him with the question for which he has no answer"What happened in between you and La because of which you are breaking this engagement."

Arnav aversely ,Hum iss bare mein baad baat karain gey"[we will talk about this later]

He comes down alone by gathering himself together and the moment he sees La and Khushi,"His phone becomes his partner"

Khushi sees him and steps forward towards him in rage which stops by La "Chamkili thoda Chill karo na"..Khushi in acerbity,"how can I chill,you are not telling me anything'..but I know it will be his mistake whether you tell me or not"

La in aghast ,"it does not matter who is responsible as Truth will not change by that"La tells her not to tell anyone till Akash and Payal engagement.Meanwhile Arnav looks at both yet Khushi shares her concerns and questions in her frenzy way and takes La with her leaving him confounded.

Payesh engagemnt happens lavishly and the new couple takes blessings of elders yet Guptas do feel virulenceonver some issue in Raizadas faces.Arnav after taking permission from La[love him over here] announces the news of his broken engagement and invites everyone for dinner.

He feels for La today as a friend ,as a companion''.he really did hurt her'He moves to talk to her yet stopped by displeased Khushi.La stops her blaming him.Khushi is touched by her concerns for family "who parivaar keh bare mein itna sochti hai '..by gritting teeth "aur Arnavji.."[She is thinking about family so much and Arnavji']

Dayr ho jati ...

Nani is furious ... She is sick to the core of her grandsons capricious indecision. What does he think this is ? Kabhi yeh toh kabhi voh ... Chottay, at this late hour, when all the guests are gathered downstairs, had just told them of his and Lavanya decision to not get engaged.

What nonsense is this ! Diwali he had fumed at them. He didn't care two hoots if she had changed her mind about Lavanya ... He would never marry her. Not an hour later, had come down and announced ... Shaadi kar raha hoon ... And then, the same night, a couple of hours later, he had literally snapped their heads off over a casual discussion regarding dates for the sagai ... What had he said ... Honeymoon ki tickets ... Rubbish ! And hadn't he, days later, threatened engagement kal hogi, ya kabhi nahin and now, at this last minute, he says ki engagement hogi hi nahin ... Does he think this is some sort of a game ?

Meri life hai ... Isn't he tired of saying that, coz she sure is tired of hearing it ... Does he remember how bitterly he had fought with her ... Had even threatened to walk out from home ... Has repeatedly spouted the very same dialogue when he wanted to bring Ms Kasap home ... Does he remember any of that ? Does he remember how opposed she herself was to Ms Kasap and now when that poor girl has done everything possible to win over everyone in the family, has won over her, the one who was so vehemently opposed to her, he has announced ... Nahin kar rahay engagement ... Ridiculous !

She knows it is his life, but does he realize that his decisions affects the lives of all of them. Don't need to look too far to see that ... Poor Aakash bitwa ... Trust Manorama to drag her agenda in ... You know what, Chottay is absolouely right ... Why should poor Aakash be held captive to the ever changing whims and fancies of his mercurial brother ... His engagement will go on as planned.

He knows all that his Nani has said, every word of it, holds truth. Jaldbazi ka liya gaya faisla ... Is he not paying for that right now ... Is she not paying for it ... Is Lavanya too not paying for his rash behavior the night of Diwali ? But this is what has to be done to reverse that completely unnecessary, thoughtless act. He can't call it a faisla, because it never was a decision. It was nothing more than a cowardly dash for the door ...

His Di too tearfully tries to overrule him. She just will not allow him to take such a drastic step at this late hour. Itni dayr say hum tumhay yeh fasilsa nahin laynay dengay. He is stoically firm, Di agar aaj yeh faisla nahin layta, dayr tub ho jati ...

Dayr ... It really is the eleventh hour ... or even later, some may think. But it not the eleventh hour that matters. It is the final hour that counts ...The twelfth hour ... The final minutes ...The final seconds ... There is still time yet ...

He has to extract himself from this completely manufactured situation. A crisis completely of his own making. How he had ended up here is as mysterious to him, as is his current decision to end his relationship to Lavanya, is to his family.

A cumulative gentle escalation, months in the making has brought him to this moment ... He brought Lavanya home, so that he would stop thinking of her ... He brought her back, so that her tears would stop ... He announced his intention to marry, to gain control ... He preempted his engagement so that he could punish her into admitting the truth ...

How can he tell them, he had no intention ever to marry her, not at Diwali, not a week ago when he pushed to rush the engagement ... How can he use Lavanya any further than he already has, how can he continue to lie, dodge, evade the truth that has been staring him the face since the day she fell in his arms ...

All this has to end. Too many people hurt, too many tears ... All because he did not have the courage to do what he should have done in the first instance ... Grab her hand and not let go ... It may be late now ... But it is not too late ... Dayr toh such mein ho jati, par itni dayr bhi nahi hui hai ...

Payal and Aakash, amidst applauding guests, a tearfully smiling Di and a sour looking Mamiji, joyfully exchange rings ...

Keh doon ? He asks of Lavanya. She nods, bravely. He keeps the breakup announcement simple and his felicitations to the newly engaged couple, graciously warm.
