Part 3
As Rishabh saw bittuji standing in front of him he realised who he is now... He could not believe how different he was back then. He was almost amazed. He hadn't thought all this, he had no time to think about all that. Too busy with his problems. The power of Time felt so colossal. Seeing Madhubala in front of him made him remember all that past long lost in his life. Well there was no time for all this, he has to work. And he shoved off all the thoughts off his mind.
The rest of the day went almost uneventful with Rishabh working on his files, Madhu getting acquainted with her new office and Bittuji confused. He couldn't understand what happened in the morning. Of course he cant ask Chief, he has no intention of giving his head in the noose.
That day when Madhu returned home she felt herself rejuvenated.
Riya her younger sister was waiting for her with the food.
Riya- How was your first day di?
Madhu- It was never so good.
Riya- Wow.. the way you were nervous till the morning i was apprehensive.
Madhu- Dont worry chhotu... Everything is mast.
Srishti came running to Madhu-"Maasiii"
"O mela baby... How was your day?"
"It was okayy" srishti said in a manner of critique
Madhu giggled at her. Srishti turned back at her with a frown feeling her maasi making fun of her. Madhu immediately changed her expression to a serious one. Once srishti was satisfied she started eating from Madhu's plate.
Riya interrupted-"Srishti.. let maasi eat. She is tired."
"Arey chhotu let her eat... my food would just get tastier"
Srishti looked at her mother triumphantly.
After dinner Riya noticed that Madhu was very happy that day. She was humming songs to herself... played with srishti and there was a spark in her eyes. Not that Madhu was never happy... for the record she was the only one who always stayed happy apart from srishti. Since their parents met with that accident it was only Madhu who was a source of positive vibrations in the house. Her presence made the family members to relax. Madhu saw Riya lost in thoughts and sat beside her.
"What happened chhotu... whats getting u lost so much?"
"Nothing di... Just happy for u"
"For me? I havent won the Olympic baby"
"Offoo di... i mean you got the job and u look so happy about that"
"Ohh that... obviously i am happy for the job but u know... i met RK there."
"RK!!!! U mean ur worst enemy"
Madhu somehow felt bad being called his enemy. "Ohh c'mon chhotu... it was all childish"
Riya laughed-" yeah thatsy u said the last day of your college that the only thing u r happy about is that you wont have to see his face"
Madhu laughed at that "Yeah i do remember... time is such a game changer chhotu... after so many years seeing him again was such refreshing... We both remembered how we used to fight. He hasn't changed a bit chhotu... same old Attitude... u know i felt so happy for him. Thank god there are some people whose life dont play dirty games with them." She said the last sentence with a pain in her eyes. Riya felt her pain. And held her hand with a firm grip. Madhu smiled back at her. And ruffled her hair.
"Achha chhotu did you go to hospital today? I doubt Srishti would have given you any time"
"No di... i did go... Ma-papa are fine. I asked ma to come home and take rest. She has been there for almost a week in a go. But she was so stubborn. She dint want to leave papa."
"I can understand... since he has gone in coma.. Ma just wants to feel his presence with herself. Staying with him makes her feel strong. Dont force her even if she comes back home she is allthemore restless without papa"
"Hmmm you are right di... but i feel so bad for her... i am afraid that she will sick"
"Dont worry she gets strength from papa"
The two went off to sleep thinking about the situation of their family. Madhu couldnt understand how to set everything straight. How would papa get back. How will get the happiness of her family back. Since that horrifying accident everything changed in their life. The happy life changed to a struggle for each one of them. It was only her who could support everything. Only her who could set things straight. She could work and pay the hospital bills but how could she revive her father back. She just stared at the roof. Riya didnt work because she had to look after Srishti. Riya had been insestent on working but Madhu had to convince her not to be stubborn. Thats why gettiing a job in Kundra group of industries with such a good pay was a tempting offer for her. So tempting that she didnt even realize that she was going to RK's company. Thinking about her new job and RK she smiled to herself... she felt a contentment. And at last she went back to sleep.
-----------RK mansion--------
Rishabh went to his dadi that night with a strange feeling of excitement. That feeling had been long forgotten by him. He felt somehow to share his happiness with someone but he had noone. Oh wait there is someone his dadi... but how would he share that... it has been long since he has been like that.. wont she feel strange...
With all such thoughts clouding in his mind he entered the room. He sat on the floor and dadi started to massage his head. He was thinking whether or not he should tell her about Malik... his jungli billi... he remembered how he said to madhu that i might have HATED you once... he had used past tense... Does that mean his feelings have changed for her but what change he had never hated her it was just that he loved to irritate her and get that jungli billi out of her. Thinking about it a smile crept on his face unknowingly..
. Dadi was surprised at this or better shocked. Rishabh was smiling after so long. She had been waiting to see him smile like that but he had not and today he is sitting there smiling.
"Rishabh... how was your day today?"
"Huh... it was really good"
That was another shock... Rishabh says his day was REALLY GOOD. When was the last he had said that.
"O really... did u get some new project?"
"Project?!!" Rishabh said baffled " no dadi... i met madhu today after so long" he blurted out of irritation of madhu being compared to some stupid project.
His dadi smiled to herself... but she didnt want to make Rishabh conscious.. so she continued as normally as she could.. "Amm Madhu? Who is she?"
"Oh she is an old friend"
How has the sun risen today... Dadi thought to herself shocked. one after other Rishabh is saying things that took Dadi by surprise.
And then there came one more... Rishabh continued himself-
" Madhubala is my college friend. U know we always used to fight but we made up as quickly as we fought... She always used to compete me... can u think of that. Huh! And now she will be working at my office. She is appointed as my PA. Madhubala Malik working as my junior! U know if this would have been back then RK would have been the happiest person on earth" He said his longest sentence in the last 7 years. Dadi felt happiest person on earth then.
But then Rishabh realised that he called himself RK... RK was lost 7 years back. In an attempt to become Mr. Rishabh Kundra or Chief, RK got lost somewhere.
He smiled disappointed and in a dejected tone he said "U know dadi i envy her... she always wanted to win over me... she always wanted to be ahead of me.. and today i think she won... she did win... because in this long run of life she is the one standing there happily and with the same old brilliant smile just the way she was 7 years back while i am the one who sits alone in a 7 storey building trying to collect broken pieces of my life." He felt a lump in his throat and stopped.
Dadi also felt his pain and kissed on his head from behind. "Rishabh... the way time changed from then to now... it would change even more."
Rishabh stood up and without looking in Dadi's eyes he wished her night and went off.
Dadi was upset for him but at the same time she felt a ray of hope that maybe Madhubala can rwmind him of the his old self and get her Rishabh back.

The next morning Rishabh felt excited to go to office. Though he felt asleep feeling bad but unknowingly now he was excited.
Rishabh was working on his laptop when his door barged open.
He looked up furiously and suddenly his ecpression changed to delight -"Malik!" He had been wishing to see her since morning but he didnt understand why he should call her.
"Mr. Rishabh Kundra... May I know why the hell i am here?" Madhu asked furiously.
"uhhhmmm Malik Dont u know why you are here?"
"According to me i must b working here but since yesterday i have got no work to do. Are you so much afraid of me that you are planning to pay me for nothing"
Rishabh heard her and then laughed at her "You are the eighth wonder you know... you should have been happy about that"
Madhu looked at him annoyed and made a face at him
RK called Bittuji-"Bittuji... Where are you... We have an emergency here.. can you come here... yeah... and get a fire extinguisher just in case..." and he laughed at the end.
Bittuji came running. RK looked at Bittuji and said- "Bittuji, Billi ko kaam dijiye"
Bittuji looked at them confused.
"ohh i mean tell Miss Malik what all she has to do.. and explain her everything"
Madhu giggled at RK's embarrassed face.
Bittuji and Madhu walked off to her cabin, while RK sat there smiling at her.
As Bittuji and Madhu entered her cabin Bittuji's gaze fell on the glass window- "His smile..." escaped Bittuji's mouth in amazement as he looked thorugh the glass window towards his chief's cabin.
Madhu looked back at RK and said with a sigh- "I KNOW!!! His smile... So mesmerizing... Always!!"
"No Miss Malik... I mean I have never seen him smile like that"
"WHAT!!!!!" Madhu looked at him shocked.
