since Zakir had to stay with the vishkanya all the time (24/7/365) my be she had been administred mild doses of poison sinc eher childhood to keep her prepared for the eventualities like this. We are not sure how long the DEK continued since we had so much happening in just 30 minutes time line. They would have given enough time also but due to Zakira's preparedness (her body immune to certain extent to take poison) and the low intensity of poison level in Ben's body would have helped them here.

Waise if i were jo , i would have attended the marriage with a snake pitara with me and thrown one on ben baby just as she was baout to say qubool hai ... poor snakes death would have made it clear to one and all ... yipee problem solved ...no wait ... before exiting i would have slapped ruqaiya,pushed MA and punched jalal in the balls too ( may be his brains would have found their way up because they seem to have been settled in his B**** )
