Hi Everyone,
It's been a little over a month since I started posting in this forum. Over the past few weeks, we've had interesting interactions and debates, and I've made quite a few friends already. It's a shame that just when I feel settled in, the show seems to be on its last legs.

I feel disappointed that I missed out on sharing the delight and excitement that you all must have felt while discussing the incredible journey of Alexander (and Rohit) from Episode 10 onwards.

So I propose this:
Once the show is over, I am going to watch all of Alexander's episodes from the beginning and share my thoughts on each episode. I would like to invite all who are interested to share yours. I haven't decided on the frequency yet, but it will either be daily or weekly. Of course, things will be different now that we know how the story has progressed, and the suspense will no longer exist, but hindsight can also bring up some points that would make for interesting analysis.

Please hit like if you are interested, or respond here or via PM.

I look forward to hearing from you.

Ufff I would gladly ! I want to discuss everything from A to Z about his first entry, and his battle tactics, that fierce and determination in his eyes to win and protect Macedonia when King Philippe was out ! Olympia's serenity and confidence that her son Alexander would come back victorious because the one who has to conquer the World is still yet to be ready for the longest periple of his life. His fighting scene with Hephaestion, their companionship, Alexander intensely looking up to his mother Olympia as she declares that her and Zeus son is undefeatable. The mother-son duo bonding later on. The Battle of Cheronnea, and his tender and caring filial nature toward Philippe. Arredius's foolish poisoning attempt and his famous "Zeher ki aadat hai mujhe bewakoof "Zeus ke beti hoon mein, itni aasan se meri maut nahi milegi as he with his whole trusted people gathered up, and goes to barge in Arredius's chamber and Alexander smacking him down (coz that's what he deserves for his cowardice and stupidity 😆) His trust in Philippe choosing him as his next successor to the throne over his mother's worries and advices. His dejected and betrayed face as he walks to Olympia, with teary eyes and bent head. The battle of Issus with Darius and his "Alexander peet piche war nahin karta, woh to dushman ki aankhon mein aankhen dalkar, uski galeja bahar nikal deti hai "Alexander nahi, SIKANDER ! dhjddjksskksksk I want to discuss everything 😆 😆

Well, my dear young ladies, this does sound enticing, but bear in mind that this is a tiny forum. I could not imagine one so small for such a major show. That means a correspondingly small readership for analyses even the first time around.

What will it be like the second time around, with the deja vu factor dominating, and most of such readers as there are now having moved on to fresh pastures? I don't know, but let me share my experience with the Jodha Akbar forum.

I used to write frequent episode analyses there, and with all due modesty, I can say that they were really popular. For example, the one for episode 87, The Gordian Knot, that inlieu dug up yesterday, can be seen at

https://www.indiaforums.com/forum/post/94145591

It attracted 94 likes, which was remarkable even for such a large forum. It used to be, at the very least, 50 plus likes for my posts, which were often interrupted because the script irritated me so much, mostly because Jalal became a joru ka ghulam.

Jodha Akbar ended in August 2015, after about 565 episodes. I had quit around 250, but I used to analyse the odd episode on request.

The re-run on Zee Anmol began the very next day after it ended on Zee.Now a close friend there, Mandy, requested me in very strong terms to redo my posts. I could not refuse her, so I did weekly analyses, using chunks of material from my old posts and adding new stuff. It had 30-40 likes to begin with, but soon it dwindled sharply, and I quit.

The thing is that people are just not interested in analyses of things they have already seen and discussed. And here, 17 likes is an event! How many will you be able to get together to read analyses after the show is over and done with? You will end up talking to me, Sweety, and Ayesha. Ankita (BrienneOfTarth) was really interested, but she has disappeared, as has newtoIF.

I do not want to discourage you, but facts are facts, and this forum is almost moribund. And no one I know from my Jodha Akbar crowd seems to be watching Porus, bar cute_manasi, or they would have all been here. Most of them even followed me to a lousy show like Chandra Nandni, though I abandoned it after 120 episodes.

If you still want to go ahead, I will of course join you. But when I wrote about the background to the sacking of Thebes, and quoted from Plutarch, there was not a single comment about it. Who is going to be interested in a post facto analysis of the various facets of Alexander's life and exploits? Just the four of us, I would think, and of course Deepika, which makes 5 in all. And perhaps lucky snow.

I agree with you Aunty. The forum activity is low, which is why I put out this post to see if people are interested.

Even now, with a small yet number of people on the forum, there are not many that do analysis. It's really just the 5-6 people who keep writing. I missed out on the forum experience all these months so I would like to give it a shot and if we decide to do this, then I will commit to writing about all episodes featuring Alexander.

It's a shame I missed your earlier posts Aunty because I wasn't on the forum, but I would have definitely replied if I had been. Thank you for your interest in joining. I'm very glad to hear that!

My expectations are realistic that people may not want to return or bother to reply even if they are silent readers. There may even be days when no one reads or responds, but I will do my bit on a regular basis and share my feelings and impressions throughout. The advantage here is that, since the show is going to end soon, we know there is a limited number of total episodes with Alexander featuring in a subset of those. The quality of his scenes and character graph has not diminished so we should have enough material to work with. I am not going to talk about the other segments of the show at all. Let's see how it goes.

I am doing this primarily for me and anyone else who wants to chime in and relive Alexander's journey with me. Rohit has been so brilliant that every time I go back and watch the old episodes I notice something different, some small detail that gives me a whole new perspective on the scene/event and on the caliber of this fantastic actor.

OK, my dear, count me in. But you will soon find out that it is tough to go on with next to no readers.

As for your coming in late, I came in only on March 28, and I don't think I missed anything much, seeing that you came in even later. 😉(Take a bow!) Perhaps Ayesha was there from the beginning. Still, I simply can't understand such a small forum for a show like Porus. Why, the Jodha Akbar forum is still going strong, 3 years after the show ended, with nearly 1900 pages, while this one is yet to get to 50! Other forums with really crazy fan groups, like IPKKND, which I never watched, must have been even larger.

I really don't know, Siya. I was taken aback when I first posted here on March 28. It is a great pity. The show deserved much better.

Anyhow, I.have done my best for the forum. At least 12 of the nearly 50 pages are on my threads, if not more.

Aunty, if you have gotten in the forum since 28th March than you most definitely had done so many takes and analysis on earlier episodes and sequences on Alexander and my god, I am in crucial need to read all of those. Please, join the links here. I have been a silent reader (I wasn't registered yet) of the forum since mi-may and you don't know how I went through all these 45 pages in hope to encounter your threads and analysis on Alexander's scenes. Especially after the battle of Cheronnea, the proximity between Alexander and Philippe, Olympia's insecurity and later on, Alexander's verbal scuff and Philippe's betrayal toward him and and his confrontation scene with Darius before the battle of Issus had my interest at it's peak for Alexander. You really don't know what I wrote on the motor research out of desperation to be directed to the exact pages in the forum where I can locate your posts 😆 😆 As @InLieu put it out so well, on period of crucial "Alexandrought, I am conducted to go back to earlier episodes where I can witness his glory again. Eventhough I have already watched them over times and again, you really can't get bored of it. That's really where Rohit is applause worthy for portraying this character. He has brought such juvenile, intriguing, charismatic and unpredictable aura to it that you always get drown into his scenes, no matter how many time you have watched those. So even if your readers hit close to zero, you can always count on Sweety to be among your restrained number of readers, Aunty 🤗
