Chanakya tempted Purushottam with the idea that he would be the emperor of the eventual Akhanda Bharat, and thus persuaded him to plot against his Macedonian allies. Of course he had no notion of letting anyone but Chandragupta rule Akhanda Bharat, but Purushottam of course did not know that!

Chanakya's technique was as follows.Chandragupta stirred up local rebellions in various small kingdoms near Paurav Rashtra, and Purushottam got the Macedonian satrap to agree to his moving his troops into these kingdoms to keep the peace. Once Purushottam's soldiers entered those kingdoms, they never left. Thus, his area of influence and military domination was increased steadily.

Purushottam's chief minister Indrasen was a classmate of Chanakya's at Takshashila, and also a close friend. Chanakya hoodwinked him as well, met Purushottam several times, and got him to go against the Macedonians. Finally, of course, he ditched him.

Purushottam was eventually assassinated by a Macedonian general in the turmoil after the death of Alexander.

He merely used him to get together the coalition to defeat Dhananand. And using someone is considered good ? How does it matter, when he actually died in all this...

It was not that he plotted to get his favourite to becone the samrat of Akhanda Bharat. It was that he felt, quite objectively, that Chandragupta was the one, in terms of his capacities and his qualities , best suited for this task and this position. If he had not been so confident about Chandragupta, he would never have chosen him. I repeat di ...how was he so confident...when he was never put in comparision with the others rulers at that time ...????

For Chanakya, Bharat always came first. He would have sacrificed himself, or anyone else including Chandragupta, to achieve national unification and progress. Did he sacrificed himself ...can you tell me how he sacrificed himself ? No, according to google which i just checked...he starved himself to death...he dint died for the country. He might be the best teacher to chandragupt mourya but he really dnt die for my country...yes because of his politics...a lot of people did died.

The assassination of Purushottam by a Macedonian had nothing to do with Chanakya. It was the result of some private enmity Chankya only put the seeds of that enmity if he was the one who manipulated porus to turn against macedonians and made false promises to him. Then later if enmity arises and porus is killed...is not chankya responsible ??

As for the concept of Akhanda Bharat, historically Chanakya was the first to conceptualise it, formulate the structure, and lobby for it with every king or janapada he could catch hold of. Very few of them were interested initially, and it was hard work for him to persuade them, but he managed it in the end. Exactly...he was the one who pursued it...who made it possible with all his tactics...but what puts a mouhar/stamp on that he saw that dream first...or he was the only one who saw such a dream in nation. It is like to say that all the known freedom fighters who fought against british are the only ones who saw a dream of free India. That's wrong...many more individuals must have tried but woh utna kuch juta nahi paaya...aur sapna toh khair har kisi ne dekha hoga ek azaad bharat ka...dream par kisi ka copyright nahi hota...dream koi bhi dekh sakta hain...we hardly know anything about porus mother or even porus...hardly anything is written about them...how so we know ki un dono akhand bharat ka sapna nahi dekha tha...aur apni taraf se koi bhi choti koshish nahi ki thi..???...may be they had tried but kuch hua nahi...and chankya brought thing in front and made it possible...may be anusuya aur porus ko utni politics na aati ho ki woh isse safal bana paaye...chanakya has faced a lot of hindrances in achieving that too...so what i dont understand how is it is a confirmed thing ki porus aur anusuya (or whatever real porus mother name was) has definitely not seen this dream...how can a dream to see a nation united just belong to one person...???...moreover i will also like to put ki agar koi bhi king chahtha hi nahi bharat ko united dekhna...toh kabhi hota bhi nahi...sirf politics ke bal par something like this cant be achieved...he approached people and people did supported, some were against...then fights and all...but he was not alone in all this.
