When Alexander entered India , he saw monkeys. First he thought they were Indians but his wife Roxana told him about them. Alexander then send many monkeys to Macedonia for his mother to see.
Battle of hydespass or say Jhelum was the first battle ( documented) in which elephants were used. Poras son was said to be 7 feet tall and he injured Alexander's fav horse...unfortunately the elephant on which he was sitting slipped and he died.
Surprisingly Alexander army was smaller than Poras because he had brought only Macedonian and Greek soldiers with him ...he distrusted Persian men after he had burned Persepolis in drunken state...
Hephastian was badly injured in this battle...Alexander too was badly injured...along with his many soldiers, good number of his generals had also died...
It is here that Greek soldiers revolted against Alexander ...now he had only Macedonian with him...and they were not enoenough to March forward...he left Macedonian merchants in Paurva as satraps...Poras was king of paurva...ambiraj son was now married to his daughter...Ambiraj was incompetent ruler. His people hated him...so Poras took his kingdom ...what happened to ambiraj nobody knows.
Poras died after five years of the battle. His death was natural.
