Scene I
Ramesh continues torturing the frog. He tells her that he will continue to make her suffer and she has no choice but to bear it all. He leaves the bedroom, where Darshini is playing cards by herself. Ramesh offers to play cards with her and pulls a chair uncomfortably close to her. Ramesh calls out to Frog, who is in the kitchen...she approaches and he orders her to bring them both some coffee and cashew pakoda. Frog swallows and heads back to the kitchen to comply.
Scene II
Thulasi is talking to Saras about the upcoming wedding. She wants to know how much gold they should use to make Poo's thaali. Saras mentions the amount used for Thulasi's thaali, and Thulasi immediately tells Saras they should make a heavier one for Poo. Saras tries to argue, but Thulasi's warped logic convinces Saras that Poo should be made to feel all important, given the fact that she's coming to the home as a second wife (excuse me while I gag). The phone rings...it's Poo, and she tells Thulasi she felt a little uncomfortable about the fact that Shan never even said a word to her when they had come to ponnu-paarthufy. Poo asks to speak to Shan. Thulasi runs into the bedroom where Shan is sitting, looking all depressed (seems like that's the only expression he needs nowadays). She asks him to come speak to Poo. he doesn't want to, but finally agrees. Poo tells Shan she wants to speak to him privately. he asks her to meet him at the Amman Temple. While the phone conversation is going on, Thulasi steps back to the kitchen to give Shan some privacy (seemingly). When Shan hangs up, he confronts Thulasi and says that she couldn't even bear for him to speak to Poo on the phone...how will she deal with Poo being brought home permanently? Thulasi denies any bad feelings. Shan tells her he has agrees to meet Poo at the Temple...and solicitous Thulasi brings him an ugly plaid short (my opinion) and tells him to wear it for the meeting since it suits him so well.
Scene III
Back at the Frog's home, Frog is wiping off the table and Ramesh asks for coffee. Darshini's mom appears, and Ramesh pointedly tells her that Paneer should come back to work. Mom is all happy and wonders about the change in his attitude. Ramesh makes some snide remark, looking at Frog the whole time. Darshini calls out to him from upstairs, and he asks Frog to bring the coffee up to him. He goes upstairs and Darshini is about to put some cucumber slices on her eyes after having applied a facial mask. ramesh stops her and asks what she's doing. She tells him it's a face mask. He flirts and wonders why someone who is already beautiful needs a mask. She tells him it's to keep her skin healthy. Frog comes up with the coffee and Ramesh makes her wait while he has Darshini apply the mask on his face, making comments about Frog being ignorant of the latest beauty methods since she's a backward village gal. Vidhya tries to escape, but Ramesh stops her and tells her to watch and learn. Just then, Ramesh's mom calls out to Vidhya, and she runs away. Ramesh suddenly stops Darshini from finishing applying the mask....he says enough, with an evil look, and goes downstairs, leaving Darshini wondering what in the world that was all about..
