We can blame the creative visionaries, the actors etc, but the key people to blame are the producers and zeetv itself. Zeetv is a privately owned company and the goal of this company is to make a profit for the owner. If its stocks were publicly shared, that would be the case.
Whatever gets high ratings attracts advertisers and a higher cost can be charged. Many attempts are made to get that winning show - good story lines are the most costly. Why? First talent is required; a good writer costs money and a good writer wants to develop a good product. Writing also requires team efforts and pre-planning. Many shows in the west are planned for three months in advance; they do not respond to ratings that are present at a particular moment in time. If a storyline is not working, then it is changed but a new storyline is already planned ahead of time.
Indian shows respond to TRP ratings on a weekly, sometimes daily basis and shows are sometimes written on the day of the shoot giving actors little time to prepare and often a hodge podge of a mess. Writers also change without little communication among them and the production team.
First and foremost, if the television shows did not answer to their pocket books only and wanted great writers...by the way, if the producers are lacking in creative visionary and dictate everything but have little knowledge about life etc...we see a horrible show in the making.
Stars, even some good acting, pretty clothes, ridiculous cliff hangers and crummy dialogues do not make a show...
