I agree with you both that he has good reason to hit back at Adi but as you also say he is going to lose and become even more grey/negative.

I just feel cheated that such a strong postiive philosophical person is being shown to become weakened for a such a pathetic reason as a girl half his age not accepting a divorce as a solution to his marital problem.

I wish the reason for his demise was a hell of a lot stronger than that.
