Hi.D.J
First of all thanks that you opened this post coz I like to read diff POV's and speciallly when it comes to characters...
Honestly speaking..I would have AGREED to each and every WORD you have said if only I had STML (Short term memory loss) and could IGNORE the way CV's ruined the STORY and above all the character of TVS.No I am not talking about recent EPISODES but I would like you to REWIND a bit and go back to the time of PRE -REWA MANSION FIASCO...
Promos -AGREED potrayed Vikram in NEGATIVE LIGHT
When the show started Uptill the time Vikram and Sugni were EXPOSED in the school by other THAKURS.Vikram was this SHARP ,CONNIVING MANIPULATING THAKUR. It was both intriguing and interesting that ever since the very beginning TVS was actually putting his thoughts in Sugni's mind Telling her about love..Telling her about the steps to fall in love..telling her how her heart would beat faster'.When someone is in REAL love you don't have to make them realise'
Well as I had always maintained that For Vikarm Sugni was like that untamed wild river which he wanted to confine within his boundaries. She is like a challenge for him to conquer..To GAIN HER MIND ,HEART,BODY AND SOUL AND lure her into COMPLETE SURRENDER.
Was that love? This question remained unanswered for Vikram too'.The day Vikram laid his eyes upon Sugni he was clearly fascinated..in fact bowled over the spunk, the charms ,the free spirit of Sugni'He clearly did fall for her 'She generated Curiosity in him..Her untamed spirit..Her defiance to the evil practices ,her dreams, her enthusiasm in spite of her life being in doldrums clearly did attract Vikram. We also see that he was clearly smitten by her ,coz who then watches a slide show of a bedni in the middle of the night in a closed room. But can we really equate 'BEING CHARMED' by someone ' TO BEING IN LOVE'.

But all of a sudden the show took an UNEXPECTED TURN and each and every STEP did make it CLEAR that Vikram INDEED loved Sugni and not only merely wanted to possess her.He stood for her everywhere ...He claimed to give her RESPECT and the FOLLY he did was to hide REWA from her ...So the TVS you are mentioning is the TVS what he appeared before this UNEXPECTED turn. This phase did make it clear that his love for Sugni was GENUINE ...He did not lust her but instead wanted to give her a life...THIS WAS AGAINST WHAT HE HAD BEEN POTRAYED SO FAR...

THIS IS THE HUGE GAP which makes your analysis a little INCOHERENT to me...It is not TVS but it is the WRITERS who were CONFUSED whether to make TVS GREY or UPRIGHT.So if I really had a STML and forget the scenes in between I would have agreed to the POSSESSION THEORY of which I was the greatest CRUSADER...But Alas Cv's are the Culprit and now again they take a 360 degree TURN and make him look obsessed...
My problem is there was NO CREDIBILITY nor consistency IN THE CHARACTER ...
Why only Vikram ..Even Aditya ,Sugni all of them have these HUGE GAPS AND PATCHES in their characters.

My PROBLEM lies with the way Cv's handled TVS ...If they had showed him with CONSISTENCY ..with the same note with which they had STARTED ...I would say a THUMBS UP to your OBSERVATION of TVS ..But SADLY the show stopped being with what it had started ...
So TVS for me is no longer what he was ...

NOTE-This comes from a person who has watched each and every episode of PSH and who loved the show for the sheer bliss of the characters without any jodi prejudice in mind .Sigh the show makes me wonder what have they done to it ...
As I had always wanted a ROLE REVERSAL between Aditya and Vikram...
Aditya a rude arrogant bedni hater turning to be more human and a sharp conniving thakur Vikram losing himself in the darkness of obsession
But LOL THE CV's actually instead of ROLE REVERSAL made the CHARACTERS and THEIR GROWTH PATCHY.😆SCREW TVS-SUGNI AND SCREW ADITYA -SUGNI...Where the hell is the story GONE😕

if u cant thn take back ur words
tvs is alone from 9yrs thinking his wife is dead
if he is a womanizer y was he alone
and let me tell u having a bedni is social status no thakurs or anyone object it
then y was this womeanizer in ur eyes was away from physical relation
sugni is dark andnot even have a great personality or can be termed as attractive/beautiful
in city they are many beautiful with fair complexion and gr8 personality girls then y hadnt he married them or taken them as his mistress.

The third promo was nothing like what TVS was portrayed. Nor was it anything like what Varun Badola said about his character.

Point is, the story doesn't often shape up the way the promos indicate, and from almost the very beginning the Vikram we saw didn't fit that promo.

The fourth promo with his holding her hand to the chest, yes that fit. But not that third promo where Vikram is negotiating to buy a Bedni.

We've talked about and analyzed many times on the forum in the earlier days. The articles, interviews, casting reports, many of them were contradictory to each other. By the time the casts were set and the story started shooting, what was shown was different than many pre-aired reports and promos.

The post is about how I am interpreting TVS character viz the promo and story line till now. I am very much in touch with the serial and the people who have read my posts on IF know well I do not post until I am sure of the previous story extremely well and I definitively do not suffer from TML

Furthermore I have tried to take a different outlook towards TVS keeping in mind how mind of some men work and have tried to link up

How much ever I would have loved to see TVS as a person who would command respect and applause I cannot negate the steaks of grey in this character What remains to be seen is how the makers want to mold However if my hypothesis is correct then most would be in for a rude shock

@manzilmukul There indeed seems a gap in my post cause there is a gap in the character progression It is a smart move on path of the makers which can prove to be a big folly if they do not make up their mind and stick to it However i feel much is going just fine The gap you see in the post can be explained and explained well If you allow lets take this off this thread I shall pm you I dont wish to post cause none will be viewed with an unbiased mind

The storyline doesn't flow. There are too many loose ends, dropped and forgotten aspects and mistake in characterizations. If all these things that don't add up are part of some grand plan of the writers, well I could buy that if the creative team were still the same. They are not.

And then there are the claims that this is the story it was always supposed to be, but the creatives lost their way and now have come back to what it was supposed to be originally.

That doesn't work for me either. Because if the characterizations, continuity, and storyline have been messed up, it's far from being on track now. And what's being shown now with this new team does not match up with what was shown by the original team.

It was the same writers who started the show that showed us the TVS who was far from some leech or leer. They are the ones who showed Aditya as the one who said some downright nasty and sexist things, absolving all the male Thakurs and putting the blame on all the Bednis. It was Aditya who looked down on 'these people.'

Does that mean Vikram wasn't grey? No. That Vikram was grey in the sense that you knew he was working things to his advantage--NOT sexually, but in getting the people to side with him against Jwala Thakur.

That is where Vikram was very much grey and shady. However that doesn't mean he also wasn't sincere in his help and beliefs, just that he was using it to his utmost advantage.

The writers who started out were the ones who showed Amrita as the person who defended Sugni and befriended her. They were the ones who showed us how all the other hypocrites looked down on her and mocked her for who she is, and her lifestyle.

The writers who started out were the ones who showed Vikram who was against Rai and Sardhakai.

I can go on and on.

If the story went off track for Vik-Sugni, then even discounting that chunk, the story is not on track now. And of course they are not the writers who started the show. So how could it be back on track when the characterizations are butchered, and most of the angles that were given at the beginning have disappeared?

It's back on track by suddenly shipping off Amrita someplace to conveniently brush past that little blockade in Adi-Sugni's way?

Nope, the writing's not back on track. It's a whole different team and this show is nothing like what the original team were giving us.

This is just one big mess.

Oh I have no doubt that it's going to get ugly. It's just that I don't buy that any of it makes considering the way the storyline has progressed.

Liked reading your POVs the story has become like an elephant and blind men for the CVs and all of us, someone saying this is ear this is leg this is elephant thats what the cvs reduced us to with them playing with the characters. For me whenever I see Sugni and Adi together I remember the 1st time when he dragged Sugni out of the Haveli and she fell down at the door and he was very vehement in his hate for Bednis I somehow cant digest this change AND where his love for Amu has gone. Sugni used to always think TM will have a solution for her problems which was not love, and now she has become a TVS hater why all becase of Reva. Then TVS how he is being shown as bit old with his side burns grey and obsessed with Sugni where has that witty TVS gone who was a daring fellow not bothered with any Thakurs and always got his way without quarelling or shouting at anyone. this is the current status in my opinion regarding the characters and the show Since I am updating have to keep watching this but my interest has gone and is is just like one unpleasent task till something interesting happens

I don't really see Vikram as a womaniser as such but i do see him as someone getting the hots over a young virgin girl... Whenever he makes his move on Sugni, i get the heebee jeebees... because he does come across as someone besotted in lust rather than love ... that is how i see Vikram. my skin really crawl when i see him showing his "love" for sugni... yikes..

As for Aditya, he was nasty about the bednis because his father left the family for a bedni and he never forgave the bednis. He had a lot of emotional baggage which he managed to throw after what Gulabiya did for him ... after he moved around with Sugni... he saw that the Bedni's were not all that bad... and he changed. That is the point my friends, stop harping on him being nasty in the beginning... the point here is he changed and learned to appreciate Gulabia and Sugni and have some understanding and respect for the bednis.

I don't want to say too much because unfortunatley the non-Vikram group tend to be silent bystanders - i can assure you there are many but they don't want to get caught in a fray for something which is after all just a serial ... were the premises and promises change at the whim of the CVs.
