Sugni is TVS Subah

Along comes Sugni; she's a breath of fresh air, young, talkative, funny, witty, charming...she shakes his ground and suddenly he comes alive. From the moment he met her at the train station, the rickshaw ride, the numerous encounters and arguements, TVS saw himself falling for her...it was certainly a gradual process. He was amused by her...when he saw her you could see him blushing like a young man who had just experienced his first love...

When Sugni wanted to leave, he could not let his "life" leave him...at that point he knew that without her he would never be the same. She had brought to him a joy that he never once had. Now everything is going out of hand...his past is catching up to him. What he once thought he could forget, ignore and push away as a bad memory is now erupting before him and the dreams HE has woven for his future are now in danger.

TVS knows if Sugni ever finds out the truth she will never love him...she will leave him. He feels guilty for lying to her but at the same time he attempted to take advantage of it. He woke up from his dream when he let go of Sugni's hand...it was his realization that perhaps this was never going to happen. He had hoped that he could just be with Sugni but Gulabia "pushed" the marriage and while TVS had every intent to one day marry her, he now feels even more pressured if the truth were to come out that he already IS married but only as a formality.

Perhaps TVS wanted to get a divorce...but instead he decided to rush the marriage BEFORE the divorce proceedings could take place. We do NOT know what came over him.
