"Where is she..?? Kahan hai niyati...??" Abeer held his collar and yelled.
They all stood clueless and qworried. These two guys were attracting way too much attention.
"Upstairs... Nice room..." Arjun smirked letting his collar off abeer's hold.
Before abeer could reply, arjun continued "and... You lost your chance.. I'm back buddy... She is mine... Woh meri hai... Arjun ki..."
"Listen dude... Mind your tongue... She loves me... Only me... Back off..." Abeer told arjun.
"You thought creating misunderstandings was end of the story... Main uski zindagi ka sabse important hissa hoon Mr. Abeer Malhotra... Mujhse dur kar sakte ho... Cheen nahi sakte..."
"Just shut up... Agar tum dubara meri niyati ke aas pass dikhe bhi toh jaan le lunga..."
Arjun raised an eye brow and took out his mobile and dialled a number. Once the call was received, he put the call on loudspeaker.
"Are you fine baby...??" He asked.
"Yes... Thank you arjun..." came the reply. Abeer clenched his fist when he heard niyati's voice.
"I'm always there jaan... Just a call away... Take rest..." he said and winked at abeer.
"I know... You are always there..."
Abeer turned around and stormed upstairs. Arjun looked at Sasha and sighed "angry bull... Take care guys...".
Meher made a face and ignored him. She knew a strong storm was about to hit niyati and for the first time meher felt bad for the girl. She pitied her.
"Welcome baby..."
The door opened with a bang and niyati shivered with fear.
"A.. Abeer..."
"What do you think of yourself...???"
Abeer asked and locked the door closing it behind him.
"Ab.. Abeer go away..."
"Ohh ya... I have to back off now... Because he is back... Right...??"
Niyati looked away and it angered abeer even more. Here he was dying for her, worrying for her well being and she was enjoying her time with that jerk. Abeer walked close to her while she leaned back into the bed. Abeer sat on the bed keeping his anger in check and leaned into niyati. He wanted to show her that she was his. why..??? He didn't bother to ask himself.
"Stay away... Please..." Niyati requested.
"Did you sleep with him...?? That's why a change of heart..."
"No..." Her voice broke at the end.
"I'm sorry baby... I shouldn't have asked it... I was worried for you..."
Niyati looked down at her hands and waited for abeer to continue.
"You disappeared and I had no way to reach you... I was dying for you... Why didn't you call me...?? Why didn't you come back early niyu...??? Why..???"
"I don't know what happened that night after I left the hotel... I woke up and found arjun sitting beside me holding my hand... And my mobile was also missing..."
"Did he say something...??" Abeer said voicing out his fear.
"Don't worry he didn't tell me that he sent a letter for me... Which never really reached me..."
"I.. I can explain... Niyati I love you..." Abeer held her hands in his.
"You love meher... You still love her... That's why you were with her that night... And you shared your feelings and hurt with her... Not with me..." Niyati concluded.
"No... No baby... You misunderstood it... I only and only love you..."
"Why did you never give that letter to me...??"
"Because I wanted you to love me... Only me... And he just wanted to sleep with you... He never loved you... Trust me... I knew he wasn't right for you..."
"Exactly what you are doing..."
"Shut up... Just shut up... We are going back... Pack your luggage..." Abeer got up in anger and his hands clenched quell
"Im not going anywhere..." Niyati replied.
"What is wrong with you...?? Kaala jaadu kar diya hai kya usne...??"
"You have been cheating me... Arjun is my childhood friend... And dare you accuse him now... Yes he slept with a girl... And he is apologetic... but i never confessed about my feelings to him... Not until I found him with that girl... Its it unfair of me... Abeer you could have supported me, stood by me and ask me to give him a chance... But you very intelligently made me leave him and choose you... You made me a toy in your hands... Didn't you..???" Niyati asked.
"No... No baby... I loved you niyati... I still do it... Agar tumhe paane ke liye maine ek galat step liya bhi toh kya hua...?? You also loved me... Didn't you..??? You also wanted me... I know baby..." Abeer said in his defence.
"He was my first love... And when we had our chance you ruined it abeer... Why...?? You never got your first love that why you snatched mine away from me... How unfair...!!!" Niyati accused abeer, with tears rolling down her cheeks.
"You want to go back to him, don't you...?? But you know what I don't care... You are mine..."
"I'm not a commodity..." Niyati started but abeer cut her in between.
"Haan you aren't a commodity... Par ab tum zidd ho meri... Abeer Malhotra ko jo chahie... Woh milega..." Abeer told niyati and left the room.
Abeer came to his room and threw everything that came in his way here and there breaking them into pieces. He wasn't ready for another heartbreak and now he can already sense it coming. Niyati - the girl he loved with everything in him was now trying to pull away from him. She also wanted to leave him - hurt and broken. Like meher did. Once.
"This is not happening... I'm not letting you go..."
Meher on hearing the noise came running inside the room.
"Abeer... Is everything alright...??"
"Meher... I'm not letting her go... I love her..." Abeer whispered without looking at her.
"Abeer why will she leave... she loves you... You know that right...??"
"No she doesn't... That guy downstairs... Arjun... He wants her back..." Abeer gritted his teeth.
"I'm not understanding it..." Meher said unable to analyse the situation.
"He brainwashed her meher... She thinks I'm trying to snatch her first love from her because our love wasn't successful... How could she...?? Doesn't she know I'm choosing her over you...?? Over you... You who was my everything... Tum meri meher thi..."
"Aaj bhi hoon abeer... Aaj bhi hoon..."
Abeer hugged meher and cried his heart out. She would understand him no matter what, he knew that. He wanted a shoulder to cry on and meher was being there for him. How he wished in that very minute, that they never ended up like his. Hurt, alone and broken.
"I'm sorry..."
Abeer broke the hug and found niyati standing at the door. Her teary eyes hurted him and he looked down to see her left foot being bandaged.
"What happened to your foot...??" Abeer panicked.
"That's why I couldn't come... I injured myself and was in a hospital... I came to apologise... I shouldn't have said all that..."
"Why don't you sit niyati..???" Meher suggested.
"No... I'm fine... Thank you..." Niyati replied.
"Niyati there is nothing between me and meher..." Abeer clarified.
"I never said anything about it... I just came to apologise and tell you... That.. That I have decided to find mom and meet her..."
"What...??" Abeer asked.
"I heard your conversation... You hided such a thing from me... I was hurt... But now Im thankful... I would have hated my mother all my life if I hadn't heard to your conversation..."
"Baby I... I wanted to protect you..." Abeer reasoned.
"No issues... But please abeer... Try and give meher a chance... For me... Please..." Niyati requested.
"Tum pagal ho gyi ho kya...?? Kya bol rahi ho yaar...??"
"Don't lose her... She still wants you back... You are lucky... Not everyone gets a second chance..." Niyati told abeer with a smile on her face and pain visible in her eyes.
"Second chance Matlab...??? What are you thinking huh...??" Abeer asked.
"Arjun is seeing someone and he says he still loves me... But just as a friend... Its hurting me abeer... I donno why... I thought we were great together but if we were meant to be, I wouldn't have felt bad when arjun said he doesn't wants me in that way now... He moved on and this very fact is killing me..." Niyati confessed and abeer wrapped his arms around her.
"Let's give our relationship a second chance... I will accompany you... We will find your mom..." Abeer suggested.
"Abeer... You don't deserve it... Not a girl like me who will always at the back of her mind love her best friend... I'm a mess abeer... A beautiful mess... But seriously, She loves you... I can see that in her eyes... She is letting you go for your happiness... This is true love..."
"Then what will happen to you...?? What will you do niyati...?? Kya karoge akeli...?? Will you live with hundred cats in your house...???" Abeer asked.
"I have you... How will I be lonely...???" She smiled.
"I'm not buying that... Niyati let's do one thing... Stay here with us and start a fresh... Like friends...??"
"Yes I think abeer is right... His happiness lies in you..." Meher supported abeer.
"And what if my happiness suddenly lies in mom, arjun and abeer's happiness... You make him really happy meher..." Niyati told meher.
"No... I just hurted him niyati... You made him happy..." Meher replied.
"Girls I'm leaving..." Abeer said and took a step to leave.
Niyati held his hand and hugged him.
"I have to leave my lover boy... You have to stay..."
Niyati whispered against abeer's chest and he wrapped his hands around her waist, pulling her close; living the moment.
"How will I live without you...??? Ever thought of it..." Abeer asked.
"I have planned everything... Meher hai na... She loves you so much and she will take care of you... More than I ever did..."
"Don't leave... I will apologise to arjun... Stay here with me..."
"Arjun has promised me to help me find mom... He wants to be my best friend again... Once I find mom, I will visit you... Promise..." Niyati said before breaking the hug.
"Hmm... You know I still love you..."
"I love you too..."
Abeer kissed niyati's forehead and niyati smiled at him. Then she held abeer's hand and took him to where meher stood with tears in his eyes.
"I'm sorry... For every time I came in between you two... But he really loves you... And mind it Ms. you hurt him once and I will magically appear and take him back with me... No one hurts my lover boy..." Niyati told meher sternly.
"Hmm... OK.. Thank you... Thanks for taking care of him... And niyati you are really nice girl... I don't want to boost your confidence, but I envied you for a minute... And... If he loved you, he will come back to you... If you guys are meant to be, you will end up together..." Meher replied with her heart hoping niyati gets her happy ending.
"But I still hate him... He is a younger version of me excluding the 'sleeping around with random girls' part. Par usko samajh aa jaega... Hum ladke thode slow hote hai... He will have to love you back... Nahi kia toh jaan le lunga uski..." Abeer muttered.
Niyati giggled and punched abeer's arm.
"Pyaar karne ke liye force karoge usko... Gundagardi karoge...??" Niyati asked.
"Karna hi padega mujhe... I can't see you getting old and living in a house full of 100 cats... The idea scares me... " abeer replied.
"Abeer..." Niyati and meher said in unison and they giggled.
The same night, arjun returned and knocked on the hotel room. Abeer opened the door and glared at him but soon recovered and let him enter. Meher was helping niyati pack her luggage and arjun stood their awkwardly.
"Listen..." Abeer whispered.
"You are talking to me...??" Arjun asked.
"Yes... I'm sorry dude... I realised my mistake... But don't let her go... I know you love her..." Abeer apologised.
Niyati looked at both if them from the corner of her eye and then resumed packing her luggage.
"Fine... But don't tell me whom to love..." Arjun replied.
"Arjun... I'm sorry..." Niyati interrupted.
"Baby its not about you... Pack your bags..." Arjun said before walking out to the balcony.
Abeer followed him trying to maintain his calm.
"He will never love me..." Niyati said emotionally and meher consoled her.
"He loves you... He looks at you the way I look at abeer..." said meher.
"How do you know..??"
"Experience... He just wants you to learn your lesson... He still loves you... I bet..."
Niyati faintly smiled and nodded her head.
"Don't you love her...??? Agar nahi toh kyun btaya usko ke tumne woh letter..." Abeer asked arjun.
"I know her more than she knows herself... Yeh dhakka important hai uske liye... And back off... I love her dude... I love her very much..." Arjun retorted.
"What do you mean...??"
"Now that you are basically out of the picture... Thank you for what you did... It taught me who I want in life... Its has always been niyati... And I'm a changed man now... I have eyes only for her... I love her but she... She has to learn the lesson too... And jealousy will turn out to be a blessing in disguise... For us..." Arjun said.
"Just take care of her... I know I don't need to say it but still... She means a lot to me... Way more than what I had imagined..." Abeer confessed, still unable to move on.
"Sure thing... Don't worry and have a great kickass start of your new life... And dude... She is beautiful..."
"And you had eyes only for niyati..." Abeer said and walked back into the room.
Bidding her goodbye wasn't easy... Not when he at the back of his mind thought of living with her all his life. Abeer sighed and closed his eyes. He couldn't believe he actually did snatch niyati from arjun. Why...?? Just to have his share of love. Irony... The love which he denied when meher begged him and then he himself was begging for love. If not from meher, then from niyati. How could he be that selfish... He mentally scolded himself and hoped they both reunite. Their reunion will free him from all the guilt he felt now. Soon he was thinking of how fast things took place and his life changed upside down. Again. Planning perfect scenarios in mind and then life happens. Well said, isn't it...??
Was it time to go back...?? Forget forgive and move on...?? Giving life and love another chance, subconsciously hoping things don't go wrong. Ever. Only time will answer. And their destiny...
