Ruchika case 'to defame' Rathore

CHANDIGARH, Sept 20 ? Members of the Triveni Manch at a meeting discussed the ''Ruchika murder case''. Ms Sudesh Rani Chauhan, president of the manch, said the matter was being unduly publicised by certain organisations without verifing the facts. ''Some police officials in Haryana are trying to publicise the matter with a view to defaming Mr Rathore, DGP, of the state'', said Ms Chauhan. She said that the matter was still under investigation by the CBI and such efforts were not justified. ''It is a moot question whether the DGP can be blamed three years after the death of Ruchika, who was a minor'', she said

WELFARE SOCIETY: In order to discuss the demands of the Dhobi Welfare Association, a meeting was organised at Labour Chowk, Sector 21, on Friday. Principal Gurbachan Singh, President of the Chandigarh Nationalist Congress Party, would be the chief patron of the society. Mrs Sudesh Rani Chauhan has been appointed chairperson of the society. The association demands include issuance of I-cards, voter cards, ration cards etc. The function was presided over by Mr Shyam Lal Azad, president of the society, Mr Sham Lal Kanoujia, vice-chairman of the society and many others.
