well technically..yes..how beautiful woud that be if it were true in our motherland....here ppl are not judged by the content of their charachter, but by the caste written on their janam patris......ugghhh....disgusting...and however unpleasent , the reality is that in India, even today, caste is a major issue when it comes to marraige....and yash's mom has already told gurpreet that she won't be accepted in his house, coz they don't want intercaste marraige.....i hope that not just raj-priyanka, but any other pairs here don't separate atleast coz of something as trivial as caste....

Only open minded people should come to reality shows to get married😳
if they have so many restrictions, such as 1. education 2, caste 3. age 4.location
Nandita wants someone whos pref a medico and interested in studies abroad. There is none wh match that criteria. Beer's dad wants approval from this entire extended family, what is the probablity that everyone would like the girl he chooses? He would have been better off marrying on shaadi.com
The whole concept and the people the production team has selected is wierd!!

@sunandshine...i agree....if these ppl are this close minded, why have they come to be a part of this reality show in the first place????? if in their famiies, they buas', and tau's and chacha's take the decisions, then why spoil the hopes of these innocent girs...

and regards nandita, i'm stil puzzed as to why she's in this show, a these losers are really not good enough for her, and she can get a guy 1000 times better outside...i hope she comes to her senses, and realizes that this show is not for her....

well in SIkhism we are told " Manas Ki Jaat Sabhe Eke Pehchaanbo" means all human beings are equal.... when it comes to get married..... it is a person's choice.... and that person is free to pray to whoever he/she wants..... One thing as a Sikh someone should not be worshipping the Idols...... so if a Hindu girl marries a Sikh Guy, she can go to the gurdwara and keep up with her own religious belief..... but if she chooses to convert into Sikhism, then she "should not" be worshipping the idols anymore and only bow in front of the Guru Granth Sahib Ji............
On the other hand side, if a Sikh girl marries a hindu guy...... it goes the same for her..... but as in our society, it is seen that after marriage a girl tends to follow husband's family traditions mostly, the sikh girl will have to do idol worshipping in the hindu temples...... so I think it is better if she converts into hinduism and leave her sikh belief behind.....
We as Sikhs are told to respect all the religions but believe in one God only... believe in the writings of Guru Granth Sahib Ji which is written by hindu, sikh and muslim scholars of that time.......

well I think its not about being close minded or open minded.... if we look at it practically its always easy, comfortable and good to stay with in the same kind..... not because of any other reasons, but the kids..... My husband's cousin (sikh) married a marathi guy ( a gaur brahmin)..... but they decided not to have kids because she said she only knew SIkhism very well adn could only teach that to her kids, and her husband knew only about hinduism and followed that all his life, so he would only be able to teach that to the kids..... and who will be confused?????????? KIDS...... because sikhism tells not to do idol worship and Hinduism thats all there is.....Idol Worship as we have seen in Hindu temples that they bow in front of the Idols and even in the Church they have Jesus's statue..... so its kinda hard for the children to grow up with 2 different principles in the house........ a couple can definitely stay happy even if they are from different religions..... but they wont be able to teach their kids one single thing.........
Sikhism doesnt believe in caste system.... so I think when people follow some kind of caste system in sikhism such as Jatt not marrying bhaapa etc... that is wrong, however you will see that there are differences of thought between these people.... and that is why we usually dont marry within some sects ( i wouldnt put it as a caste)..... Sikhs have different sects.....bhaapa, ramgarhia, saini, tarkhaan....jatt mentality is much different than bhaapa mentality so the problem comes in social adjustment...... BHaapas are more sophisticated than jatts (and I can tell you this as I am a jatt 😃.... and we jatts are more aggressive which bhaapa community may not like........ or Sainis may not like...... so thats why these things are kept in mind.......when my father was looking for a chap for me he was pretty much ok with anything and everything (as long as the person is breathing)......😆 but I am glad that I finally fell in luv with my own kind-- a jatt sikh boy.... and happily married to him now..... so it depends on family to family, what your social circle is etc............ however I do have to admit that if I married a Jatt Sikh boy, All I know is that I will not have to work hard to teach my kids about their religion as they will be only going to the gurdwara with me or their father and will get atleast a basic understanding of their religion on their own..........

😃 Yes some people do go to the temples... and I will be going for diwali as I have to take my boss's son who is doing a project for Diwali.... but i am going mere for that purpose....... I have full belief in Guru Granth Sahib and I bow for blessings to that only..... however I do respect every other religion..... If I go to the temple, I will not be rude or do something to offend my fellow citizens...... So if i go to the temple, I will join my hands and wish for everyone's goodwill.....

all i have to say is that religion shouldn't matter yes i get that it's a big part in two peoples lives but what is more important is love. if two people love each other than nothing else matters, you can't go look around for the same religion, you go and look for some1 that you love and can be best friends with.
