Have heard of the legal system? Believe it or not court still exists...
Blood relations should let ratan's family win his custody over diya who would have no solid reason to support her adoption

Why didn't u guys act like this when balika vadhu was on a god damn 8 yr run...
If this is such a sensitive topic then ppl like u with strong opinionated believes should have shut down shows that promote child marriage and age gaps. If we Indians aren't open enough to just accept this fact then previous shows should have been shut down. Those shows have lead to the production of ppk. Nobody woke up with a new thought and managed to get it approved. Because of previous shows, the production house believed that Indian audience is mature enough to handle this concept.

If you guys can make a difference go ahead but just to let u know the production house isn't stupid. They are not gonna give up easily cuz they have invested so much...

The problem is pedophilia not the child marriages

Let's not bring 'court' and 'law' into this show, because if court system actually exists in this show, Diya's marriage to Ratan is neither valid nor legal, and it's quite simple for Ratan's family to go to court and file a case against Diya, due to which she would be thrown in jail for marrying a child, which is a criminal offense even in India. Just because "it still happens" in some parts of the country doesn't make it right or justify it in any way whatsoever.

I don't know why people are comparing this show to Balika Vadu or GOT, because in both those shows, child marriage is shown as a social evil. It's not justified nor glorified in any way.

Also, in Balika Vadu, the marriage was between two children which is more digestible than a marriage between an adult and child. An adult marrying a child, no matter what the reason, and no matter what the intention, is pedophilia, even if the adult has no romantic feelings for the child.

I wonder how many people would be okay with this show if the adult was a man and the child was a girl. A grown man marrying a 9-year old girl would be seen as creepy and gross, which it totally is, but I don't understand why a grown woman marrying a 9-year old boy isn't disgusting, because it's the same for me.

Now, if Diya had married Ratan after he reached 18 years, I wouldn't care, because the age gap isn't a big deal. It's the fact that she's a friggin adult right now marrying a small child. That's just plain wrong.

Marrying a 9 year old boy is not only a stupid concept but a creepy and criminal one at that.
Logically - the girl (Adult) would be put in jail. This "marriage" is null and void. Given that the family shown is royal (and educated) they would know this basic thing.

Even if they are trying to show Diya-Ratan's "realtionship" as cute and friendly, it still doesn't become morally clean or less creepy. I don't understand how can child marriage (with a fricking 9 year old!) be shown as cute!

Also in GOT or BV as RamkiJanki also stated, the child abuse was shown as abuse. They (esp GOT ) don't try to show it as cute or romantic. All the men (and women) who indulge in such behavior are shown as creeps in GOT. Be it Ramsay, Roose, Walder or Baelish.

Marriages like this still happen, though the number of cases reduced but that doesn't mean that it doesn't happen. And why can't we watch it just as a means of entertainment and see what happens next. In case you don't like the stuff shown that you are not bound to watch it.

And if Sony TV, the channel decided to telecast the show then they must have considered all this no?

maybe common people of village don't care about this mairrage, but if their enemy want to separate the boy from Dia they just have to report this mairrage.
Your choice if you want to watch this. But since you were trying to explain logic behind the mairrage, I was pointing out that there is none. And I know there is hardly any serial with logic, but this is more creepy since a child is involved.

When balika vadhu or gulaal were on air there weren't many social media users nor was there an awareness about a change.org to petition.i think if u see from an investor and employee point of view it feels bad to ban a show.but from a viewer's point of view i find the show disturbing.even ny.50yr old mom finds the concept utterly disturbing.
