Oh...I forgot you are one of those who tend to judge a book by it's cover that's similar to judging a show just by it's promo.

Diya's parents can't adopt Ratan because the immediate custody of a child goes to his close relatives present, that's Ratan's Uncle and Aunt. The Aunt whom Ratan loves more than his own mother! So if asked ofc Ratan will choose to live his "Kaki Maa Sa"

If possible please try NOT to ignore those comments that provide you with a reason!

don't talk about law... so they can't adopt because custody will go to his uncle but marriage of 9 year old is legal ?

well when Ratan tells his dad n uncle he wants to marry dia the pari, they did explain to him the legalities of being old enough to marry after 21. That he needs to grow up first and then will a legal age to be married. His mom too tells him that.

So its not that the channel is unaware of the bal vivvaah issue.

Given the circumstance of the murder attempt on Ratan that took his mom's life and later his father's, the most likely suspect was his family who the child blindly trusted. He had to be protected from them.

A family friend could not take him in nor bring him up due to property and wealth being involved. Dia agrees to be a protector of the child, but the only way in to be close to him was accept the idea of marriage. She puts her dreams and wishes on hold to repay a debt for her life and be a peheredaar to the child.

Its not about love n romance but being there as a protector while acknowledging that he is child and still believes in fairy tales.

Well diya can't really adopt him, but I agree. I've seen gulal where she "married" little kesar after vasant was murdered and she was forced to be a part of a village ritual where the widow marries her late husband's brother by making him wear her dead husband's shoes, but she knew her husband was murdered by his cousin brother, who she was being told to do the marriage ritual with, and clearly no woman would want to be forced to marry the murderer of her husband who has lustful eyes for her, plus she had no proof against him to prove him as the culprit, so she had no choice but to do the marriage ritual with the underage brother of vasant, kesar, so that she could stay in her in-laws and get evidence against the evil brother.

In that show the marriage wasn't really a marriage at all, considering gulal and neither the little kesar did not consider one another as husband and wife, and gulal promised her in-laws that when he grows older she will find a girl for him, and until then she will take care of him as she used to even when she was just his bhabhi and the boy still considered her as his bhabhi, whilst the marriage status was just for show to the village for gulal to be able to get her husband justice. I remember the villiagers also being annoyed when she did the marriage ritual with the boy and were not at first happy until she made the promise to marry him off when he's older to another girl. I also remember that gulal sent him to boarding school until he grows up, ultimately keeping him away from her till he became a grown man. It's another story that after the leap, kesar wanted gulal as his wife. It was carried out more tastefully and justifiably in gulal, but not in this show,

In this show it really is not justified at all. In this show, they are actually making marriage, the marital relationship between a child and an adult seem justified, which gulaal never did when that track happened.

Personally I may only watch the show if he grows older, otherwise I would rather not. Hopefully they choose a good actor for that.

Balika Vadhu portrayed ball vivah as an evil and showed how the illegal marriage affected the young protagonists who eventually married different persons.

Here they seem to be romanticising it. The promos showing the kid filling an older woman's maang with sindoor was atrocious to say the least. Worse, the woman was overwhelmed by the gesture.

Child marriage is evil and illegal and there is no way it can just become an entertainment. Every year police crack down on mass child marriages in Rajasthan and rescue the child brides. That the corrupt practice continues is no justification for it.

I wonder if channels know that they are glorifying an act that is against the law of the land. I do hope the makers redeem themselves by showing that the adult groom decides he wants out of it, and the girl finds someone of her own age.

TV is really plumbing the depth. Before anyone tells me not to watch the show, I don't. The wretched, non-stop promos keep popping up when I watch other shows. And I was horrified when I figured what they were showing.

What if the child was an infant?. Would she still marry him?

Marriages like this still happen, though the number of cases reduced but that doesn't mean that it doesn't happen. And why can't we watch it just as a means of entertainment and see what happens next. In case you don't like the stuff shown that you are not bound to watch it.

And if Sony TV, the channel decided to telecast the show then they must have considered all this no?

Marriages like this happen, that does not make them legal. People who indulge in such practices due to whatever reason should be beaten up in jail.
You say that law and order shouldn't be given much heed in tv shows, if I'm interpreting correctly. Then why did they (and You in ur earlier comment) bring in law to justify Ratan's adoption difficulties? If his uncle aunt want, they can still go to court and prove that this marriage is invalid. They can still claim him and his wife will go to jail. Trying for adoption was a better option than this disgusting marriage.
