I have rarely posted in the PR forum. But after watching the finale, decided on posting my views. Over the years I've been a silent member. Read the +ves & the -ves. The fights! The frustration over character butchering & illogical twists & turns. But all of this has been true to any Ekta Daily Soap. It's part of the deal.
What a spectacular way to bid adieu. The show thoroughly deserved to be given a grand send off. It was a good move on the part of the CVs to bring back old but never forgotten faces such as Arjun, Purvi & also Ovi. They've been an integral part of the show & it must've been a treat for Arjun-Purvi fans to see their favourite jodi clear misunderstandings with Pari and get the closure that they deserved. As a family.
Bringing back Sushant as a young Manav to reunite with Archana gave the show a fitting end. The journey had begun with them. To end it with their reunion in the heavens was quite a touching end. Hiten Tejwani did full justice to his role following Sushant's exit. But Sushant's presence was required. Not just for Ankita. L. - but the fact that he gave a lot to the character of Manav. No doubt.
I admit the Ankita-Naren-Pari track had been mishandled at the beginning, & character butchering took place. But I'm glad that Naren came back to Ankita. She finally listened to her heart and embraced what was always hers. Her devotion never lessened in the 5 years that they spent apart. Ankita always put others before herself. Finally she got the happiness that she deserved. Her daughter & her husband. Regaining his memory was the key to unlock Naren's feelings for Ankita. Ahaana was simply an illusion that he lived through Pari. Ankita was always the one. I may be a rare Karan Mehra fan here. But he once again won me over with his effortless style of acting.
I understand why Ekta was upset about the show coming to an end. But everything has a life span. PR lived its life to the fullest & I strongly believe that content is everything. When a story is told, ultimately it has to end.
Special mention to Ankita Lokhande, who was the true hero of the show! Archana or Ankita, she gave it her all & deserves a nice long holiday! She truly was the face of Pavitra Rishta all these years...& managed to create individual chemistry with 3 different actors. I along with many viewers over time have often said that PR should come to an end. But now that it finally has, I do feel sad. The show was a regular feature in my household over the years & made a place in my home. All the best to the entire cast and crew both past and present. They have all contributed to the shows success. I shall miss it.
Alvida, Pavitra Rishta :)
